International Cooperation in the Aerospace Industry Economics Politics Organization and Management of Technology

International Cooperation in the Aerospace Industry offers a unique study and analysis of how nations and industries have cooperated internationally to design and manufacture civil and military aircraft from a variety of perspectives: historical economic organizational operational and political. Covering Europe North and South America Asia and the Middle East the author examines both the practical and managerial aspects of establishing and operating international programs and analyzes the economic and political dynamics associated with international cooperation. A chapter is dedicated to describing and comparing the various organizational and legal structures that have historically been used as frameworks for cooperative programs. It also examines cooperative international activities in aerospace research and development and international ventures in maintenance repair and overhaul of operational aircraft. Throughout the book practical examples of cooperative programs around the world are used to illustrate analytical themes as well as a series of case studies of international cooperative aircraft programs of special political and economic significance. This comprehensive book will be a valuable resource for researchers and postgraduate students specializing in aviation and aerospace management. | International Cooperation in the Aerospace Industry Economics Politics Organization and Management of Technology

Bryozoan Studies 2022 PROCEEDINGS OF THE NINETEENTH INTERNATIONAL BRYOZOOLOGY ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE (DUBLIN IRELAND 22-26 AUGUST 2022)

Bryozoan Studies 2022 PROCEEDINGS OF THE NINETEENTH INTERNATIONAL BRYOZOOLOGY ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE (DUBLIN IRELAND 22-26 AUGUST 2022)

Bryozoan Studies 2022 contains nineteen papers presented at the 19th International Conference of the International Bryozoology Association held at Trinity College Dublin in August 2022. Bryozoans are complex and fascinating colonial organisms that range from Cambrian to the present day and which are found in marine and freshwater environments from pole to pole and subtidal to abyssal. Recent tomographic techniques have revolutionised the study of modern and fossil taxa where internal structures are revealed through non-destructive methodologies. Here the internal structure of some Ordovician and Eocene taxa is illustrated through these methods. Phylogenetic studies of bryozoans question the classic classification of the group; here the phylogeny of species from California and Japan is described. Other topics covered are assessments of Recent faunas from Haiti and fossil assemblages from Mexico and the United States. Distributional patterns from the Arctic and New Zealand and the dispersal patterns of bryozoans on rafted pumice and on slipper lobsters are characterised. Further contributions provide descriptions of a rare Permian taxon clarification of species assigned to the Upper Palaeozoic genus Stenopora avicularia in Wilbertopora enigmatic structures in a fenestrate bryozoan repair structures in trepostomes and an assessment of skeletonisation in the families of Palaeozoic orders. | Bryozoan Studies 2022 PROCEEDINGS OF THE NINETEENTH INTERNATIONAL BRYOZOOLOGY ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE (DUBLIN IRELAND 22-26 AUGUST 2022)

Moral Injury and the Humanities Interdisciplinary Perspectives

Moral Injury and the Humanities Interdisciplinary Perspectives

This book brings together leading interdisciplinary scholars to broaden and deepen the conversation about moral injury. In the original chapters the contributors present new research to show how the humanities are crucial for understanding the expressions meaning and significance of moral injury. Moral injury is the disorientation we suffer when we are complicit in some moral transgression. Most existing works address moral injury from a clinical or neuroscientific perspective. The chapters in this volume show how the humanities are crucial for understanding the meaning and significance of moral injury as well as suggesting how to grapple with its lived challenges. The chapters address the conceptual sociological historical and ritualistic dimensions of moral injury across three thematic sections. Section 1 explores how tools of the humanities provide new lenses for understanding conceptual and genealogical themes about moral injury. Section 2 highlights the experiences of moral injury in combat soldiers law enforcement and noncombatants such as photojournalists. These chapters examine the power and limits to theorizing moral phenomena by appeals to lived experience. Section 3 considers how humanistic inquiry illuminates important dimensions of the aftermath of moral injury beyond the scope of clinical research. These chapters consider how ritual relationship repair and atonement might shape the ways people navigate moral injury and consider how such responses shape our understanding of what we owe to one another. Moral Injury and the Humanities: Interdisciplinary Perspectives is an essential resource for researchers and advanced students in philosophy religious studies literature journalism and the arts who are interested in moral injury. | Moral Injury and the Humanities Interdisciplinary Perspectives
