Blue Spanish Fir (Abies Pinsapo Glauca)

Blue Spanish Fir (Abies Pinsapo Glauca)

A shrub-sized tree with greyish-blue leaves, green fir cones and cherry-red flowers. Native to Spain and Morocco, the Blue Spanish Fir prefers dry climates and soil, although it is still very hardy (like all conifers) and can even grow in chalk. Although a slower-than-average grower, it can eventually reach heights of 30m. Its conical shape and broadly spaced branches can create a lot of movement in the wind – a great way to display its beautifully coloured leaves, fir cones and flowers. All conifers are known for their hardiness and resilience against the elements. We often think of them being heavily covered with snow during the winter, but they can look equally as bold and impressive against a bright blue summer sky. Conifers get their name from the “cones” that they produce – which come in all shapes and sizes. Conifer leaves are evergreen and will either be needle-shaped or scale-like. Camellia Sasanqua Bonsai Tree

Camellia Sasanqua Bonsai Tree

Camellia is a showy and fragrant, broadleaf evergreen, woody shrub in the Theaceae (tea) family native to Japan. The word camellia is derived from Georg Josef Kamel (1706), a Jesuit missionary and naturalist who introduced Philippine flora to Europe. Camellia is a rapid grower and will reach 6 to 14 feet high by 5 to 7 feet wide. The plant requires full sun to partial shade and well-drained soils with a neutral to acidic pH. It will grow in clay, loam, or sandy soils and is slightly salt tolerant. It appreciates shelter from afternoon sun, winter winds, and cold, and—once established—will tolerate drought. This camellia blooms during the late fall and winter, making it a focus of the landscape at a time when many ornamentals enter dormancy.  Flowers may be up to 3 inches in diameter and contain a single or double row of petals. A camellia will flower over a period of four to six weeks.  In the landscape, Camellia works well as an accent plant, a privacy hedge, or a tall foundation planting. It blooms in a different season than its cousin C. japonica. Product Dimensions 325-350 cm: 450 litre pot Latin Name: Camellia Sasanqua English Name: Sasanqua Camellia Species: Theaceae Foliage Type: Evergreen Foliage: Green. Flower: Pink Flowering Period: Autumn, Winter Suggested Location: Outdoor. Suggested Soil Type: Moist, but well drained. Loam, clay, sand Suggested Exposure to Sunlight: Full sun, partial shade. Specimen. Ornamental. Topiary. Rock Gardens. Courtyard styles. Maintenance: Tolerate hard pruning in Winter or after flowering. After flowering, remove spent flowers and trim to shape. Japanese Holly Bonsai Trees are a popular choice because of their dense foliage and their ability to change colour based on exposure to the sun. Over time, leaves at the top of its bundles become golden-yellow, where as those lower down retain their dark green colour because of the shade they receive. Japanese Holly Bonsai Trees also produce very small flowers and berries during the summer. Our Premium Bonsai Plants have been specially sculpted to form distinctive shapes. This growth-training is a process that can take over 30 years to create trees of this size. This care and attention becomes entwined with the plant itself – giving them a genuine “wow factor” and making them a favourite talking point with everyone who sees them. A Premium Bonsai Plant can help to create an atmosphere of luxury, sophistication and dedication in your garden, workplace, office atrium or shopping centre. Scots Pine (Pinus Sylvestris) Bonsai

Scots Pine (Pinus Sylvestris) Bonsai

A wonderful collection of White Pine Bonsai Trees, with bluey-green needles arranged into graceful crowns. At over 30 years old, our range of Japanese White Pine Bonsai Trees have been dutifully cared for by our expert growers and now they are ready to take pride of place in your garden. One of the old favourites for bonsai parenting, white pine has an enchanting appearance – its smooth blueish green pine needles, contrast beautifully against the tree’s rough grey bark which curves and twists as it ages. All of our Japanese White Pine Bonsai Trees have so much character and charm, that they’d easily be at home in a child’s fairytale. These styles of Japanese White Pine Bonsai Trees are well-developed, but you’ll still have a few decades to enjoy their beauty before they reach maturity at around age 60. Originally from the mountains of Japan, they are resilient to the British climate, and should only be protected during periods of extreme of hot and cold. They will look stunning in any open space and create regular interest as they continue their irregular growth habit. Additionally, their cones sometimes stay on the branches for many years and their flower buds and needle clumps have a very pleasant aroma. Taxus Baccata (English Yew) Japanese Style

This collection of bonsai trees look stunning in any location and are resilient enough to handle the British weather. These particular styles of English Yew Bonsai Trees are more developed than those available elsewhere on our website, but you’ll still have a few decades to enjoy their beauty before they reach maturity at around age 50. Taxus Baccata (English Yew) Japanese Style

This dense, evergreen bonsai has been shaped to form the appearance of clouds on levelled branches. This density of foliage has made them a popular choice for topiary, as they are able to be trimmed with high precision without the risk of creating bald patches. English Yew Trees have a long pedigree in garden and landscape design – often used to create sharp-edged geometric forms, or in this case, a cascade of rounded clouds. These particular style of English Yew Bonsai Tree are in their adolescent stage, meaning you’ll have many decades to enjoy their beauty and to develop your sculpting skills before they reach maturity at around age 50.
