Platanus x Acerifolia (London Plane / London Planetree ) - Roof Shape

The Platanus x Hispanica, also more commonly known as the London Plane, has a rather interesting history. The actual plant species was formed by accidental hybridisation due to the close proximity of P. Orientalis and P. Occidentalis. It is said to have happened in Spain during the mid 17th century but there are beliefs that state it happened in Vauxhall Gardens in London where John Tradescant the Younger discovered the tree. The actual plant itself has an inconspicuous flower but starts to grow fruit in the winter time. Well drained soil is recommended for this plant and make sure to avoid planting in the vicinity of other buildings. Washingtonia Robusta (Mexican Fan Palm / Skyduster) - Extra

There are two main commonly cultivated Washingtonia species: Washingtonia robusta ( Mexican palm, Skyduster, Petticoat Palm) and Washingtonia filifera (California fan palm). Washingtonia filifera differs from W. robusta by width of trunk, erectness of fronds, presence of strings on frond margins, gray-green color, and cold hardiness. The two species can also hybridise. Washingtonia filifera has fan-shaped greyish green fronds 1-2m across whose tips arch down. Its margins are more stringy than Washingtonia robusta. These palm trees look really attractive when old dead fronds are allowed to accumulate against the trunk giving it a shaggy appearance. The inflorescence on stalks extending beyond foliage bears small off-white flowers which produce tiny black berries. The tree is not very hardy at H1C so shelter during normal British winter. Laurus Nobilis (Bay Tree) – Rectangle

Laurus Nobilis, also known as the Bay Laurel, Bay Tree, True Laurel or Grecian laurel tree is a popular fragrant evergreen plant suitable for containers or planted in the ground as a small tree.
