It's a lightweight and comfortable quilt, offering you numerous possibilities for designing your new outdoor outfit! Do you need a vest? Or some over-trousers? Perhaps a short jacket or a long coat? Or how about a stylish wholesuit or flying suit with a waist tie for adults, so you're ready to walk the dog when autumnal winds gust outside? Ensure your project remains waterproof by using the right seams: Search for "seam tape for rainwear fabric" and find a free guide. Quilt for accessories You can also use this quilt for lovely bags, where the waterproof material ensures that your belongings remain dry in almost all weather conditions. Design your own unique look or explore our many sewing patterns – perhaps you need a new bumbag or shopper? About water column pressure Water column pressure indicates the height of a water column that the material can withstand before water starts to penetrate. The higher the water column pressure, the more waterproof. A good rule of thumb is that +2,000 mm is good for light rain showers/short outings in the rain, while +5,000 is for a heavier rain shower or a few hours in light rain. If you're going to be out in heavy rain, we recommend +8,000 mm. Some practicalities This fabric is made of 100% polyester and is 140 cm wide. You choose the length you need for your DIY project. We recommend using a universal needle size 80.

Polar fleece sand

Polar fleece sand

The loveliest projects in fleeceFind your favourite colour and start creating your new project! Polar fleece is light, soft and stretchy - a great material that also insulates. That means it's perfect for lining a jacket or a nice, fluffy vest, for example. This is how easy it is to make a fleece blanketChoose the colour and cut the blanket to the exact size you want and voila: you have a new fleece blanket. It doesn't get any easier than this. And yes - it's good enough - you don't need to sew the edges; the material won't run. If you want to give your rug a nice finish with a sewn edge, we recommend using jersey needles, which are specially developed for qualities like this. They penetrate the fabric easily without leaving holes. Or how about making a reversible blanket or vest with two different colours of fleece - double up on warmth, softness and use. Fleece dries quickly, is robust and durable and therefore very easy to bring along, for example as extra blankets in the caravan. Practical information about polar fleeceThe fabric is 145 cm wide and you buy it by the metre, so you get the length you need. It's easy to throw in the washing machine at 40° max and is quick-drying, but can also be tumble-dried at a low temperature if you need it faster. Be aware that it shrinks about 3% in the wash, so it's a good idea to wash the fabric before starting your project. Please remember to use jersey needles (item no. 46799 or 46028) when sewing in fleece. What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®?OEKO-TEX® is the world-leading label for textiles tested for harmful substances.Once the fabric has achieved a STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, it is your guarantee it has been tested and approved not to contain any harmful chemicals.

Jersey suits most things. For leggings and trousers, tops and t-shirts, or dresses and skirts. It's also a lovely material for a soft bodysuit for the little ones.  Explore our many different sewing patterns, or create your very own design.  Some practicalities This fabric consists of 92% organic cotton and 8% elastane; choose the length you need for your DIY project!  When working with jersey, we recommend using a jersey needle, which is characterised by having a medium point – also called ball point.
