Premium quality overlock thread in 100 % polyester, suitable for use with all overlockers. Overlock thread is slightly finer than regular sewing thread. An overlocker works differently than a sewing machine. Overlocked seams are stretchier. While an overlocker sews with one or two needles and two loopers, a sewing machine sews with an upper thread and a lower thread that lock together between the fabric layers. In overlock stitching, two threads wrap around the edge of the fabric. Essentially, overlock stitching creates a seam and binds edges at the same time. In this fabric, we combine the two qualities, giving you a light and soft material with good breathability and comfortable stretch.  Colourful designs Whether you prefer black and white, earthy tones or vibrant colours – you'll find the entire colour palette in this fabric. Choose one or more favourites, get out your sewing machine, and sew your new outfit.  The material is suitable for almost all types of clothing, but of course, we have some favourites.  One of them is the classic top. Once you've found the right fit, you can easily change its look by simply choosing a new colour. Or how about making small adjustments in the design, so you have your favourite top with short, ¾, and long sleeves?  The fabric is suitable for much more than classic tops! Use it for dresses, leggings, trousers, and skirts. Find plenty of inspiration in our sewing patterns or design your own favourite.  A bit of practicality Viscose has been used for clothing for over 100 years. The fabric consists of processed and regenerated cellulose from sources like wood pulp or cotton waste. It's similar to natural fibres like cotton and silk. Here, the viscose is mixed with elastane (6%), giving you a stretchable viscose.  You choose the length you need for your sewing project. The fabric measures 145 cm in width and shrinks by 6% when washed.  When working with jersey, we recommend using a jersey needle, characterised by having a medium point – also known as ball point. The needle easily penetrates the knitted quality and prevents stitches and threads from running. For this type of jersey, we recommend jersey needles in size 70/80. What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®? It can be washed at 30°, always hang dry and iron at low heat. TIP: Use good quality fleece and interfacing to stabilise smaller parts like collars and cuffs. We recommend ironing it on before cutting out the pattern pieces - and remember to iron without steam (water can leave small stains and the high temperatures from the steam can change the surface of the fabric!) In other words, the kind of outerwear you wear for everyday life and parties, and not so much for those days when you're building caves in the garden.  This wool has a brushed surface, making it extra soft and pleasant to the touch. At the same time, it's compactly woven and strong, so you get a fabric that works well for all kinds of coats and jackets for young and old alike. Use it for classic coats with a collar and pretty buttons or for a more personalized version with a zipper, oversized collar or fewer details - it's entirely up to you.Wool in interior designWe know that the next one is a bit impractical because the wool is not washable. But it's just so soft that we have to say that it's also great for a wool blanket on the sofa. For example, with a nice coarse stitching all the way around - warm, cosy and perfect for cool summer evenings outside and sofa evenings inside.  Practical InformationThis fabric is made up of 80% wool and 20% polyamide. It is 145 cm wide and you can choose the number of meters you need for your project. The wool is not washable, but can be dry cleaned.Remember to use the right needles - we recommend using universal needles when sewing with this wool, and you may want to go up in stitch length for a more finished look.
