Cotton canvas navy

100% cotton canvas for your next DIY project A durable, tightly woven piece of cotton canvas can be used for many exciting DIY projects. Select your favourites and sew delightful storage and laundry baskets for the home, lovely bags, spacious storage bags or a cool duffel bag.   Decorate with intricate details for your very personal look.   Get out the paintbrush Use the cotton canvas as your canvas – quite literally. Stretch the fabric onto a frame, find brushes and paint, let the colours flow freely, and create a personal painting that can adorn the wall in the living room, the children's room or the holiday home. It can only turn out well!  A few more details Cotton canvas is a tightly woven, durable and hard-wearing fabric that you can use for projects requiring a robust surface.   The fabric by the metre is made of 100% cotton, has a width of 140 cm, and can be ordered by the metre. Expect it to shrink 3% upon washing.   Since cotton canvas is a heavy material, it's crucial to use the right needle and thread. We recommend either a jeans needle or a universal needle size 90 along with a robust thread. You might want to increase the stitch length to give your project a genuinely exquisite look.   What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®? OEKO-TEX® is the world's leading health label for textiles.  When the fabric by the metre is certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, it's your assurance that it has been tested and approved and is free from any harmful chemicals.

Shiny satin navy

Shiny satin navy

Sewing in satinFancy a glossy look for your DIY project? Then you should consider satin! The special weave gives a nice glossy front, a more matte back and a nice shiny look! Our Savina satin is available in many beautiful colours! Find your favourites and order exactly the length you need. Beautiful designs in satinUse satin to create beautiful accessories for everyday and on special occasions. For example, sew a puffy bag or tote bag that you can use for everyday and on special festive occasions. You can also choose to use the shiny fabric as a lining in your project; it adds a beautiful finish. And then, of course, you can use satin for clothing - for example, a nice satin shirt, a pair of cool satin trousers or maybe a jumpsuit with a drawstring waist. The fabric has a width of 135 cm and shrinks about 3% in the wash. It can be washed at 30°, always hang dry and iron at low heat. TIP: Use good quality fleece and interfacing to stabilise smaller parts like collars and cuffs. We recommend ironing it on before cutting out the pattern pieces - and remember to iron without steam (water can leave small stains and the high temperatures from the steam can change the surface of the fabric!) Search "9 tips for sewing satin" for more tips.  What is satin?Satin refers to the way the fabric is woven, where one side of the material is smooth and shiny. For this satin you will need microtex needles.  What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®?OEKO-TEX® is the world-leading label for textiles tested for harmful substances.Once the fabric has achieved a STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, it is your guarantee it has been tested and approved not to contain any harmful chemicals.Meaning it is neither harmful to you nor your health and it’s less harmful to the environment.
