New Mexico is the first major paid expansion to the American Truck Simulator game released in 2016, i.e. the PC-only popular truck driver simulator from the Czech studio SCS Software. This title is the "little brother" of Euro Truck Simulator 2, a cult in some circles. Both titles have enjoyed unflagging popularity since their premiere. American Truck Simulator - New Mexico does not bring a revolution when it comes to gameplay mechanics. Instead, it focuses on adding a fourth state, after California, Arizona and Nevada - the eponymous New Mexico. It is the fifth largest part of the USA, with great variety in terrain. The add-on tries to reflect this as well as possible and at least partially reflect the atmosphere of the southwestern United States. Thus, players have the opportunity to cross the famous Rio Grande, visit deserts, forests and mountains, and drive through the largest cities of the region. There are fourteen of the latter in the DLC, including Albuquerque, Santa Fe (the capital of the state) and Roswell, where eight completely new companies are located just waiting for someone to take a contract from them to transport goods. In virtual New Mexico, the creators also scattered eleven petrol stations and stops where drivers can rest.
