Strelitzia Nicolai (White Bird of Paradise)
Perennial, evergreen, cespitose plant which forms clumps which look like Banana plants made up of large leaves (leathery, elongate, 1.50 m long, 0.60 cm wide, bottle green), on even longer, robust stalks (2 m). Throughout the summer floral stalks appear at intervals, almost 50 cm long, at the end of which there are very unusual, large flowers with white lanceolate sepals and pale blue petals.
