Forgefix Pronged T Nuts ZP M6 Bag 10

Forgefix Pronged T Nuts ZP M6 Bag 10

Forgefix Pronged T Nuts are a simple and effective product, offering bolting capability into various soft substrates. They are Zinc Plated for increased resistance to corrosion. APPLICATION:Used widely in the soft furnishing trades where strong timber connection is required. Also extensively used in Playground and Climbing Wall manufacturing. GUIDE:Use 6mm bolt with M6 and 8mm bolt with M8 T-Nuts. When installing the T-Nut tap home and the sharp fins pierce the substrate and fix the T-Nut firmly in place avoiding any rotation when tightening. The T-nuts can be used with many bolting products. A T-nut, (also known as a Blind nut) is a type of nut used to fasten a wood, particle or composite materials work piece, leaving a flush surface. It has a long, thin body and a flange at one end, resembling a T in profile. The flanges of T-Nuts often have hooks or serrations on the prongs that sink into a wooden work piece, providing better retention. Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal to create a longer lasting finish. It does this by forming a barrier and by acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged. Zinc oxide is a fine white dust that (in contrast to iron oxide) does not trigger a breakdown of the substrates surface integrity as it is formed. The zinc oxide, if left intact, can act as a barrier to further oxidation, in a way similar to the protection afforded to aluminium and stainless steels by their oxide layers.

Forgefix Machine Screw Pozi Compatible Pan Head ZP M6 x 50mm Forge Pack 4 FORFPMSPH650

These Forgefix Pozi Compatible Machine Screws are designed for use with nuts or pre-tapped holes. They are Zinc plated for increased corrosion resistance. Their Pan Head with a flat under head surface makes the screws ideal to lay flat on sheet material of all types, thus reducing deformation. APPLICATION Ideal for use in many DIY, ironmongery, electrical and plumbing applications. Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal to create a longer lasting finish. It does this by forming a barrier and by acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged. Zinc oxide is a fine white dust that (in contrast to iron oxide) does not trigger a breakdown of the substrate&rsquos surface integrity as it is formed. The zinc oxide, if left intact, can act as a barrier to further oxidation, in a way similar to the protection afforded to aluminum and stainless steels by their oxide layers. The Pozidriv screw is similar in appearance to the classic Phillips cross-head, but in fact is very different. The Pozidriv has four additional points of contact, and does not have the rounded corners that the Phillips screw drive has. The biggest advantage it offers is that, when used with the correct tooling in good condition, it does not cam out, allowing great torque to be applied. The Pozidriv screw can easily be distinguished by a line embossed in the screw head at 45 to the slots for the driver. A Machine screw is generally a smaller fastener, threaded the entire length of its shank that usually has a recessed drive type (Slotted, Phillips, etc.). Forgefix Carriage Bolt & Nut ZP M6 x 130mm Bag 10 FORCB6130M

These Forgefix Carriage Bolts are Zinc Plated, and ideal for timber to timber joining. They come complete with a hex nut and are fully threaded to 100mm. Also known as 'Cup Square Hex Bolts', the square underneath the Cup stops rotation of the bolt when tightening. Conform to DIN 603 and DIN 934 standards. Available in a comprehensive range of sizes to suit most applications. APPLICATIONUsed mainly for fastening timber to timber and is extensively used for timber joist construction in house building and numerous decking applications. A Carriage Bolt, also known as a Coach Bolt or as a Fully Threaded Cup Square Hex Bolt, has a domed or countersunk head, and the shank is topped by a short square section under the head. The square section grips into the part being fixed (typically wood), preventing the bolt from turning when the nut is tightened. A rib neck Carriage Bolt has several longitudinal ribs instead of the square section, to grip into a metal part being fixed. Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal to create a longer lasting finish. It does this by forming a barrier and by acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged.
