Poate fi atinsa, dar n‑ar fi acolo unde o atingi. Nu stii, la inceput, de unde vine si chiar asta intriga, pune pe ganduri, «prinde». Poate suna paradoxal, insa lucrarile lui par sa atraga tocmai pentru ca, vizual, nu sunt atragatoare, in sensul ca «nu sar in ochi»: culori diafane, mai degraba fade, desaturate; linii sobre – tandre si reci deopotriva; compozitie epurata, aproape rudimentara. Nimic excesiv, dramatic, nimic care sa iasa din registrul unei relative banalitati. Laconismul iconografic palladin e insa mult mai elaborat decat ne lasa sa intrevedem o pictura sau alta. Aparenta de simplitate a panzelor sale ascunde un joc profund al corespondentelor, fie in cadrul aceluiasi tablou, fie intre tablouri diferite. Pallady tese o poveste, incifreaza un sens, cumva ca in desenul misteriosului covor din romanul lui Henry James. De aceea, e unul din pictorii care trebuie «citit» cu rabdare inainte sa ajungi la miezul de delectare confesivo‑estetica ce ne asteapta in panzele lui, si care devine din ce in ce mai precis odata cu depasirea fiecarui prag de lectura: de la cel superficial la cel problematizant, pana la senzatia (doar senzatia?) lamuririi. Aceasta promisiune abia rostita, sau foarte discret exprimata vizual, e ceea ce pare sa atraga de la bun inceput in tablourile sale. - Simona Filipesc
