Moto Racer 4, the fourth full-fledged installment of the cult motorcycle racing series, the first three parts of which, developed by the now defunct Delphine Software studio, were released in 1997-2001. The game was created in cooperation with the legendary French company Microids with the Artefacts Studio team, who have, among others, such titles as Gods vs Humans and the Nintendo DS Moto Racer released in 2008. The main designer of the original, Paul Cuisset, was in charge of the work.
The gameplay mechanics of Moto Racer 4 remained faithful to the solutions known from the classic installments of the series, so we are dealing here with a dynamic racing game with a typical arcade driving model, in which the rules of fair play have been pushed to the background. In the game, we take part in subsequent motorcycle struggles, taking place in two main variants: motocross (off-road) and traffic (road), taking into account e.g. aspects such as traffic or the possibility of colliding with competitors. Among them, we can find a wide range of characters, each with a unique driving style. Players have at their disposal many models of motorcycles, intended for different types of competitions: from classic cross-country bikes to high-power machines representing the superbike category. In accordance with the standards in force, the game also features rich customization options - both for two-wheelers and their drivers.
Like the classic versions of the Moto Racer series, the "four" was also designed to have fun for both one and many players. This time, however, the developers have prepared an impressive number of over a dozen game modes, including the typical variants: Time Trial, Single Race and Championship. Among the completely new ones there are, among others King of the Hill, Last Man Standing, Survival, Catch-Up, Wolf Pack, Ghost Bike, and Golden Helmet. There is also a classic option for two players to compete on a split screen and a network multiplayer, in which up to 10 people can compete simultaneously.
