Gameplay
Popup Dungeon is a production with a gameplay style referring to classic board games. As in the case of board games, we look at the action from above - from an isometric perspective . We are dealing with an RPG title that is also deeply rooted in the roguelike sub-genre - for example, the vast majority of the content in Popup Dungeon is randomly generated. The gameplay is based mainly on exploring locations, fighting monsters (a turn-based system was used) and performing various types of tasks. The production offers dozens of heroes that we can control, several hundred types of enemies and even more items. There are also over 1.5 thousand abilities at the players' disposal (our characters develop during the game). What's more, users can create their own content - including items, skills and spells - or modify existing content. The system responsible for this is very simple and intuitive - it does not require any programming knowledge or experience in gamedev.
Game modes
The Popup Dungeon we can play alone or with others . The basis of the game is the single player mode, but the production also offers a local co-op mode. In addition to the main campaign, players can also take part in other stories (including those created by other users) or casual games. Popup Dungeon allows you to create almost any scenario and refer to various genres and conventions (e.g. science fiction, steampunk). The rules can also be largely adapted to your expectations. An interesting option is the Dungeon Master mode, in which, in addition to designing our own challenges, we can also take control of monsters.
