Glenmorangie The Original 10 Years Old Whisky The history of the Glenmorangie distillery goes back to 1843, when William Matheson acquired Morangie Farm and converted an existing brewery there to a distillery. This he equipped with two second-hand gin stills, and the production of whisky started. In 2004 the LVMH (Louid Vuitton Moët Hennessy) group purchased the distillery, and rebranded the products to appeal to a wider audience - changing the bottle shapes, and names. As the name suggests, The Original 10 Year Old was first released by the original founders. It is double distilled in their giraffe-high stills (which are the tallest in Scotland), and aged for 10 years in first and second fill American ex-bourbon casks. These casks include bespoke designer casks, especially imported from Missouri. This ensures the flavorus permeate the whisky fully - and develops the signature peach and vanilla flavours of Glenmorangie. This is a smooth whisky, with a nose which is fruit, with rich notes of lemon, apple and nectarine - balanced with warm spice. The flavours open with a citrus rush. As the whisky warms in the mouth, the layers of flavour open up. From orange to honey, into creamy vanilla and delectable bursts of peach. Filliers 10 Years Single Malt Whisky Distilling for over five generations, the Filliers distillery was initially only a side venture to their farming venture. It's this history, dating from 1880 that ensures Filliers create delicious and well loved drinks. They do as much on-site as they can. They pump their own spring water, gind the grain, create their own fruit and herb distillates, ferment, distill and age. Their Single Malt Whisky is a special drink. It's the oldest whisky from Belgium which has been rested and aged exclusively on ex-sherry barrels made from European Oak. Like the whole of their range of drinks, Filliers take care, and time creating their whisky. At least ten years in fact! This time in the barrels ensures maximum flavour in the final drink. As could be expected from 10 years in ex-sherry casks, the aroma had strong notes of Sherry to it. Ardbeg 10 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl

Ardbeg 10 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky The Ardbeg distillery is located on the south side of the Isle of Islay, in the small settlement of Ardbeg from which it takes its name. It has been producing whisky since 1798, but only began commercial production in 1815. Having changed ownership over the years, it is now owned by the LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) group. It is renowned for producing a heavily peated Islay Whisky. The distillery themselves state "Ardbeg Ten Years Old is revered around the world as the peatiest, smokiest, most complex single malt of them all". They use malted barley which is sourced from the maltings in Port Ellen (also on the Island of Islay). Interesting Fact: The brand name Ardbeg is an anglicisation of 'An Àird Bheag' which is Scottic Gaelic, and means 'The Small Promontory'. Their Ten Years Old edition is the flagship whisky of their range, and is matured in ex-bourbon casks. Whilst this is definitely a peated whisky, it does not flaunt the peatiness. The peatiness is perfectly balanced with the natural sweetness of the malt. This results in a whisky which has a light gold colour, and an intense aroma. Smoky fruit, peat and lemon & lime are all wrapped in a background of dark chcoloate. Menthol, and hints of black pepper also come through. The flavour ensures there is no doubt that this is a peated whisky! The peat blends with tangy lemon and lime, spicy black pepper, and cinnamon spiced toffee. The mid palate brings forth ripe bananas and dried fruits, as the smokiness builds on the palate. This leads to notes of creamy cappuccino and liquorice root. The finish is exceptionally long, and the smoke doesn't hide. It brings our espresso, anissed, toasted almonds and traces of soft barley and fresh pear. More from Ardbeg Perfect Serve As with all whisky, drink however you like it. We tried this with a light splash of water, and really enjoyed how this opened up the aromas.

Ardbeg 10 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky De Ardbeg-distilleerderij ligt aan de zuidkant van het eiland Islay, in de kleine nederzetting Ardbeg waaraan het zijn naam ontleent. Het produceert whisky sinds 1798, maar begon pas in 1815 met de commerciële productie. Na in de loop der jaren van eigenaar te zijn veranderd, is het nu eigendom van de groep LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy). Het staat bekend om het produceren van een zwaar geturfde Islay Whisky. De distilleerderij zelf zegt: "Ardbeg Ten Years Old wordt over de hele wereld vereerd als de turfste, rokerigste en meest complexe single malt van allemaal". Ze gebruiken gemoute gerst die afkomstig is van de mouterijen in Port Ellen (ook op het eiland Islay). Interessant feit: de merknaam Ardbeg is een verengelsing van 'An Àird Bheag', wat Schots-Gaelisch is en 'The Small Promontory' betekent. Hun Ten Years Old-editie is het vlaggenschip van hun assortiment en is gerijpt in ex-bourbonvaten. Hoewel dit zeker een geturfde whisky is, pronkt hij niet met de turfachtige smaak. De turfachtige smaak is perfect in balans met de natuurlijke zoetheid van de mout. Dit resulteert in een whisky met een lichtgouden kleur en een intens aroma. Rokerig fruit, turf en citroen en limoen zijn allemaal verpakt in een achtergrond van donkere chcoloaat. Menthol en hints van zwarte peper komen ook naar voren. De smaak zorgt ervoor dat er geen twijfel over bestaat dat dit een geturfde whisky is! De turf vermengt zich met pittige citroen en limoen, pittige zwarte peper en met kaneel gekruide toffee. In het midden van de mond komen rijpe bananen en gedroogd fruit naar voren, terwijl de rokerigheid zich verder opbouwt in de mond. Dit leidt tot tonen van romige cappuccino en zoethoutwortel. De afdronk is uitzonderlijk lang en de rook verbergt zich niet. Het brengt onze espresso, anijs, geroosterde amandelen en sporen van zachte gerst en verse peer. Crafted by the Sea Every drop of The Hearach speaks of its origin – from the soft, peaty waters used in its making to the maritime climate that influences its aging process. Their whisky is a 'Harris Whisky', and as the distillery states “… we do not emulate other drams or regions”, remaining proud of who they are. Whilst each batch is made using the same recipe, they are blended differently (using different barrels, and length of aging), which gives each batch its own individual personality. This batch, (number 10) consists of 12,058 bottles in total. This batch is made using whisky matured in 4 different barrels (Heaven Hill - 21%, Buffalo Trace - 64%, Oloroso - 11% and Fino - 4%). The maturation took a minimum of 4 years, and the marrying 17 weeks and 6 days. A Legacy of Island Craftsmanship The Isle of Harris Distillery, also known as 'The Social Distillery', is at the heart of the local community, reflecting a deep commitment to the Harris way of life. The Hearach is a testament to their dedication to creating a whisky that is not only of exceptional quality but also tells the story of its origin. Even the box itself exudes craftmanship. It’s embossed all over, and includes a gneis-stone pattern on the front - which is  inspired by the stones near their water source. On the back are images of people from the Isle, which are randomly assigned to bottles. The inside of the panels have a poem in Scottish Gaelic named 'Eilean Na Hearadh' (Isle of Harris), and a small book is also included with the story of the whiskey. A bottle coaster is also included in the box, which is created from excess materials that arise during the production process.  A Whisky of Distinct Character The Hearach is notable for its complexity and balance, offering whisky aficionados a taste experience that is both challenging and rewarding. Het is dus misschien passend dat Frederick Neill en zijn nieuwe vrouw tijdens hun huwelijksreis op het prachtige Siciliaanse platteland opnieuw verliefd werden, dit keer op de levendige, pittige smaak van Siciliaanse bloedsinaasappelen. Met behulp van zijn verfijnde distillatietechnieken probeerde Freddy eerst een wodka-recept te creëren dat de herinneringen aan zijn Siciliaanse huwelijksreis zou oproepen. En het is dit recept dat vervolgens leidde tot de creatie van Whitley Neill Blood Orange Gin. Het is een handgemaakte Gin van uitzonderlijke kwaliteit, die barst van de dynamische citrussmaak van Siciliaanse bloedsinaasappelen in elke druppel, voor een zachte, knapperige smaak van de mediterrane zon. Maar het zijn niet alleen de Siciliaanse sinaasappels die deze gin op smaak brengen. Het recept is zorgvuldig aangescherpt en naast de sinaasappel worden ook andere plantaardige ingrediënten gebruikt. Jeneverbes, korianderzaad, kassieboomschors, liswortel, engelwortel, zoethout, zoete sinaasappel en citroen zijn allemaal inbegrepen om de gin "precies goed" te maken. Bij het openen van de fles wordt u begroet door heldere, pittige aroma's die een zuivere, citrus gin opleiden. Een uitbarsting van zoet fruit van Siciliaanse bloedsinaasappelen biedt een zachte, scherpe smaak van de mediterrane zon. Routa Arctic Rum 50cl

Routa Arctic Rum Zonder een ongeluk hadden we deze heerlijke Limited-Edition rum vandaag niet gehad. Het begon allemaal toen 2 Laplanders een sterke ongerijpte rum wilden maken zonder toegevoegde suikers of additieven. Bij toeval werd de helft van de originele rum vervangen door een premium 10-jarige Caribische rum, een fout die pas werd opgemerkt toen het meeste al was verkocht. De rum vond zijn weg naar de Torino Distillery in Finland en werd verdund met kristalhelder zuiver Lapland water om het gekozen alcoholpercentage van 37,5% te bereiken. En ze moeten iets goed hebben gedaan, want het was het best beoordeelde niet-alcoholische product bij de Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2020! Het behouden van de oorspronkelijke smaak van Damrak gin was de reden dat het zo lang duurde dat het zelfs bij 0% alcohol mogelijk is om van een cocktail te genieten wanneer (om welke reden dan ook) je geen buzz wilt. Nadat ze terugkwamen, hadden ze hun herinneringen, maar de tequila's van topkwaliteit die deel uitmaakten van die herinneringen, waren niet beschikbaar. De voor de hand liggende oplossing was natuurlijk om het eerste tequila-merk van Amsterdam te creëren. LALA Tequila wordt gemaakt met 100% agave in het hart van de tequila-regio, in Jalisco, Mexico. Elke kleine batch wordt met de hand gemaakt in een bekroonde distilleerderij, waardoor elke keer weer een kwaliteitsdrankje wordt gegarandeerd. Deze soepele tequila heeft een gedurfde en stijlvolle stijl en is klaar om van te genieten. LALA Tequila begint met de agave. Het wordt meer dan 9 uur gekookt om zacht te worden tot piña, waardoor het suikerextractieproces tijdens het malen gemakkelijker wordt. De gekookte piñas worden geplet om het sap vrij te maken, dat tequila wordt, en de suikers worden vervolgens gefermenteerd met gist, een natuurlijk proces waarbij de suikers in alcohol worden omgezet en dat ongeveer 72 uur duurt. Vervolgens volgt de distillatie, niet één keer, maar twee keer, waardoor de schone en gladde tequila ontstaat. LALA Tequila Reposado wordt vervolgens 4 maanden gerijpt in maagdelijke eikenhouten vaten. Dit volgde op 10 jaar ontwikkeling door de zonen van Luigi Rossi (Luigi was de maker van Martini's eerste Vermouth, de Rosso). Bevat een mix van plantaardige ingrediënten, waaronder zeldzame houtsoorten, kruiden, citrus- en frambozenextracten, samen met Florentijnse Orris-wortel. Alle likeuren gebruiken cacao (uit West-Afrika), suikerbiet (waarvan ze een basisgeest maken, en ook om zoetheid toe te voegen) en Bourbon-vanille uit Madagaskar. Brouwerij Verhofstede Citroen Jenever De geschiedenis van Brouwerij Verhofstede gaat terug tot 1885, en Stefanie De Jaegher (die later trouwde met Julien Verhofstede). Aanvankelijk werd er bier gebrouwen, maar in de jaren '60 kwam er een verschuiving naar sterke drank. Nu met meer dan 130 jaar ervaring en vier generaties van dezelfde familie blijven ze een reeks heerlijke drankjes creëren. Met hun Citroen Jenever heeft Brouwerij Verhofstede een verfrissende jenever gemaakt met een delicate pit. Dit wordt gecreëerd door verse citroenextracten te mengen met hun jenever. Intens pittig, dit zit vol met intense citroensmaken. De citroen verbergt zeker niet in deze drank, en hij houdt ervan om 'aan de lippen te kleven'.
