For their Rhubarb and Raspberry gin, Tarquin's bring a real taste of the Cornish coast and countryside. They distil with 14 botanicals sourced from across the globe and locally foraged on the wild Cornish coast. After distillation, they infuse their gin with 100% British rhubarb and raspberries which gives this special gin its beautiful blush colour. The botanicals which make this gin so special are: Juniper, Coriander Seed, Liquorice root, Angelica root, Orris Root, Green Cardamon, Cinnamon, Bitter Almonds, Fresh Orange, Lemon & Grapefruit Peel and Violets. Joining these are the signature flavours from the Rhubarb and Raspberries. The result is a gin which is a proud celebration of the delicious British rhubarb and raspberry. The aroma of this gin is enticing, and whilst fruity retains a prominent crisp juniper backbone. There are notes of lemon sherbert joined by eastern spices.  The flavours begin immediately with an initial hit of slightly sweet and tangy rhubarb sorbet, which is followed by fresh raspberries and a soft tang of juniper. As entrepreneurs, they realized that the combination of available ingredients and the exceptional geographical and climatic characteristics would be the perfect combination to make a rum like no other. A Pioneering Spirit Alejandro Hernández and Luis Toro were true innovators, defining new ways of making spirits and setting the standard for aged rum in Venezuela, with a maturation process of 2 years. Aging the rum in barrels and utilising the heat and humidity of the the local area resulted in an unmistakable flavour, exceptional depth and smooth complexity which is now recognised the world over.  The Pampero Process Pampero Rum start by using only the finest sugar cane, which is mashed to extract the juice and then boiled and centrifuged to form the molasses, Yeast and water are added to start the fermentation process before the alcohol is triple distilled and aged in white oak barrels. Unique Blending Pampero stand apart from most rums, using a mix of rum styles, ages and types in their blends. Each varriant is blended differently, and have an overall roundness of aroma and taste, which is palatable and consistent. Pampero Añejo Selección 1938 Rum is a uniquely balanced rum. Created by Rum Master Luis Figueroa, he searched out and hand selected Pampero's "mother reserves" to blend 10 Ex-Bourbon and Ex-Sherry aged rums. Engine Organic Gin Created in the Torino Distillati (which is known for making the Malfy range of gin's), Engine Gin is is a gin which takes inspiration from Italian and Piedmont traditions.  A craft organic gin, its ingredients are carefully controlled, and 100% from Italy. They use an alcohol base whcih comes from Italian wheat. Juniper from Tuscany, sage from Piedmont and Liguriam and Sicilian and Amalfi Lemons. Liquorice from Calabria and Damask rose and water from the Alpine region of Italy. This is most definitely an Italian gin! These botanicals are utilised in a small batch process of vacuum distillation.  A number of these ingredients are often used in typical Italian and Piedmont traditions, such as sweet liqueurs (rosolios), cordial and other liqueurs made from sage and lemon (and historical digestives).  The Engine refrence, and motor oil can comes from the founders (Paolo Dalla Mara) passion for engines, in particular motocross. The aroma is full of crisp sage, citrus zest and herbaceous notes from the juniper. The flavour is quite unique, with the sage forming a core of the gin with the juniper. This is an earthy gin, with a delicious green herbaceousness to it. Towards the end a creaminess from licorice joins with an uplifting citrus arome. It finishes with a degree if heat (although not overpowering). The sage and a zesty bitterness from lemon pith lingers.
