Schodu Pink Summer Gin Just like the original Schodu Gin, their Pink Summer Gin comes from the South-West of the Netherlands in Zeeland. Again, where possible they use local ingredients in its creation. Whilst this is a pink gin in colour, it's certainly not one in flavour. This is a gin full of summer flavours, with rhubarb, orange, rose, peach and even a pinch of Zeeland sea salt from the Oosterschelde.  With it's fruity, floral flavours (perfect year round, but especially in the summer) and a touch of sea salt, this is once again a gin proud of its geographic location! Nginious! Summer Gin The story of nginious! started in 2014, when Iris and Oliver Ullrich launched the brand in Switzerland. They quickly gained an international reputation as a brand which created new and innovative flavours as well as honest gins. Since then, they have expanded into liqueurs and other drinks. For the summer edition of nginious! an entirely new recipe was composed. From the name it's easy to see that inspiration was taken from the summer season. Botanicals found in this gin are juniper, blueberries, peach, fresh sweet limes, jasmine blossoms, white pepper, rhubarb roots and rhubarb. From the list of botanicals used in it's creation it's easy to guess that this is a gin with a real fruity-floralness to it. The Summer Gin is a little lighter than the original nginious! Use either a neutral tonic, or for a little extra sweetness - try Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. These are distilled from fine French grapes; a process inspired by over a century of wine-making expertise and craftsmanship.  Only the finest French grapes are selected and made into a wine. This wine is then distilled four times, and then, at the fifth distillation, Cîroc Vodka is created in a traditional, tailor-made copper pot still at the historic Distillerie de Maison Villevert - Chevanceaux in the South of France. This distillery has been in the family for over 500 years. With their strictly limited edition Summer Watermelon, Cîroc have created a truly refreshing flavoured vodka which is perfect for the summer. Ableforth's Summer Fruit Cup Since their founding in 2011, Ableforth's have been making drinks that the founders (three friends) would enjoy themselves. They took inspiration from the past, looking at drinks which had robust, fresh - yet unusual flavours. In fact, they just wanted to ensure a "range of really bloody tasty spirits'. For their Summer Fruit Cup they wanted to "bottle summer". By this they meant creating a delicious drink which captures not just the flavours, but the feeling that a warm sunny day brings. To do this they macerate fresh strawberries, cucumber, orange and mint before vacuum distilling to extract the maximum amount of flavour. This distillate is then blended with their award winning Bathtub Gin as well as a mix of sweet Italian Vermouths, and a triple sec liqueur. They then add a blend of herbs and spices to ensure the perfect balance. The result gives a deep and complex nose which is full of spice, fruit and even a hint of cocoa. As the aroma develops the signature botanicals (cucumber, strawberry and orange) all come through. The taste is deliciously intense, but not at all over-powering. All the botanicals are given their time to shine, but it's the strawberry and a hit of refreshing fresh mint which really please the mouth. It finishes long and especially smooth with the mint, orange, cucumber and strawberries all lingering on the palate. G'Vine June Wild Peach & Summer Fruits Gin With their June range of Gin's, the producers (Maison Villevert in France) have utilised their stunning G'Vine gin as a base and added distinct, fruity flavours. The result is delicate and elegant - slightly sweet and packed full of fruit flavour. The flavours behind this gin start with the base of G'Vine gin. This gin sets itself apart from the crowd using a base of alcohol which is distilled from Ugni Blanc grapes in the Cognac region of France. This, along with select other botanicals, and even grape flowers go to produce what can only be described as a quintessential French gin! Taking the G'Vine gin, they then infuse it with ripe wild peaches and other summer fruits. This gives the June gin a lighter feel to the original G'vine - whilst retaining its refreshing and floral base. The overall result is delicate and fruity. Citadelle Jardin d'été Gin With their newest Gin, Citadelle have taken inspiration from a summer garden. It contains no less than 22 different perfectly blended botanicals, including  lesser-known botanicals such as Szechuan pepper and savory. The Citadelle Jardin d'Été (Summer Garden) has a intensely fresh nose with scents of citrus fruit (coming from yuzu, orange peel and candied lemon) and juniper berries being instantly recognizable. Behind these are more floral scents (violey), and a delicate spicy touch from fennel and a little licorice. On the palate, the freshness found in the aroma continues and the floral flavour can still be found. These floral notes are accompanied by a deliciously light spiciness and a fruity character from melon and mandarin. The spiciness becomes more noticeable towards the end and warming nutmeg and angelica greet you. The total 22 botanicals used in the blending of this delicious new gin are: Juniper, whole lemons, and lemon zest, melon, orange zest, yuzu zest, iris root, almond, fennel, star anise, cardamom, violet, nutmeg, coriander, cubeb pepper, cassia, licorice, savory, sichuan pepper, angelica, cumin and cinnamon. Dingle Bealtaine Whiskey The third of nine in Dingle's 'Wheel of the Year' Series - this limited edition Pot Still whiskey was released in the Irish market on the 1st May 2023. "Small. Artisan. Independent. Proud." - These are the 'truths' of Dingle distillery, and which they hold true to themselves. Located in Country Kerry in the South-West of Ireland, the Dingle Distillery produces whiskey's that they believe to be a product of their environment. They use local well water, manually mash their barley, use wooden fermentation vessels and copper pot stills. The environment they are located in also ensures the maturation process creates a whiskey unlike any other. For their Pot Still whiskey's they use a mix of malted and unmalted barley. Fun Fact: Bealtaine is a special day in the Irish calendar. It marks the end of spring and the beginning of summer. An homage to the arrival of long summer evenings and the Bealtaine fire festival, this is a Pot Still whiskey which has been matured in Bourbon Casks, before being finished in a Shiraz Cask.  The aroma of this whiskey has sweet aromas of sundried raisins, rich dates, and vanilla cream. On the palate there is a warmth with dark syrupy cherries, a nutty caramelness and rich velvety chocolate. This develops into a warm spicy finish. The Macallan Harmony Collection - Amber Meadow Whisky Founded in 1824 (making it nearly 200 years old) The Macallan distillery is located in Craigellachie, Moray in Scotland. The Macallen is classed as the second or third best-selling single malt scotch (behind Glenfiddich, and perhaps Glenlivet). The Macallan's Harmony Collection is inspired by their deep-rooted onnection to nature. These are released annually, and are limited release. Each of the releases unveils distinctive and innovative packaging, which brings new life to organic by-products. Fusing innovative techniques with natural materials ensures a new life, and renewed purpose to these materials. The third annual release, within which Amber Meadow sits, takes inspiration from nature and has been created in collaboration with Stella and Mary McCartney. This celebrates the lush and fertile lands of Scotland. Inspiration was taken from the sisters memories of warm summer days in amber fields at their family farm in the Scottish countryside. They describe nature as serene and energising, which take root in the collaboration.  In this release, discarded meadow cuttings have been given new life in this presentation box and bottle labels. The presentation box features photography by Mary McCartney of The Macallan Estate. The whisky itself has an amber hue, which is reminiscent of a summer evening. The nose brings forth rich aromas of orange and lemon. These are joined by honeysuckle, vanilla and coconut - leading to ripe barley fields. A perfect opener for this exquisite whisky.
