Bacardi Carta Negra Bacardí Carta Negra is een medium-bodied zwarte rum, met passie vervaardigd door de Maestros de Ron Bacardí. De rijke, donkere smaken ontwikkelen zich in sterk verkoolde eikenhouten vaten en worden gevormd door een geheime mix van houtskool. Sommigen noemen het misschien zwarte magie. De smaak is een reis. Filliers Dry Gin 28 Barrel Aged 50cl

Filliers Dry Gin 28 Barrel Aged Gemaakt volgens een recept dat gebaseerd is op het authentieke recept van Firmin Filliers (1888-1965), de 3e generatie van Filliers Master Distillers. Gemaakt in kleine batches met behulp van traditionele koperen ketels, wordt de gin enkele maanden gerust in medium verkoolde Franse Limousin eiken vaten. Deze werden voorheen gebruikt voor Cognac. Het verouderingsproces op het vat leidt tot een verzachting van de citrus- en bloemige tonen in de gin (hoewel nog steeds aanwezig), en brengt de zachtere tonen in de gin naar voren, waarbij ook een vleugje vanille en zoethout wordt toegevoegd. Suntory The Chita Whisky 70cl

Suntory The Chita Whisky Gelegen op het Chita-schiereiland (nabij Nagoya in Japan), is de Chita-distilleerderij (die eigendom is van Suntory) een inventieve graanwhisky-distilleerderij. Ze maken een divers aanbod aan graanwhisky's van hoge kwaliteit met behulp van twee, drie of vier kolommen. Ze gebruiken drie verschillende soorten graanwhisky: clean, medium en heavy. Elk van deze whisky's is gerijpt in verschillende vaten (sherry, bourbon en wijn), elk met unieke smaken. Ze worden vervolgens samengebracht om The Chita Single Grain Whisky te creëren. Hoewel je er het hele jaar door gemakkelijk van kunt genieten, komt dit zeker tot zijn recht tijdens de zomermaanden. Op de neus heeft dit honingdauwmeloen, citrustonen en honingachtige granen. Het is extreem zacht in de mond, met hints van vanillebiscuit en honingzoetheid. Een vleugje boomgaardbloesems leidt naar een middellange afdronk, met veel pit. Klopman Janneman Gin (Mini) 5cl

Klopman Janneman Gin Janneman Gin is een Nederlandse Dry Hertog Jan Cask Gin uit Haarlem. Het is een kruidige gin met subtiele citrus en frisse tonen. De "kenmerkende" botanische van Nepalese Timut-peper van de distilleerderij geeft zowel de kruiden- als de citrustonen aan de gin. Na destillatie rust de Janneman gin in een medium getoast Amerikaans eiken vat waarop voorheen Hertog Jan bier werd gerijpt. Dit geeft Janneman prachtige vanille-, nerf- en houttinten. East Imperial Tonic Water heeft lichte kaneeltonen, die goed samengaan met de smaken van de gin. Terwijl The London Essence Co. Tonic licht is, zowel qua smaak als qua calorieën, wat ervoor zorgt dat de enige smaken afkomstig zijn van de gin, die worden versterkt door de bubbels en kinine in de tonic. Voor beide raden we aan om 50 ml Janneman op 150 ml tonic te gebruiken. Garneer met een paar (timut) peperkorrels en een schijfje citroen.

Brecon Botanicals Gin 70cl

Brecon Botanicals Gin To create their Botanicals Gin, a specially selected range of botanicals from the four corners of the world were selected. These were chosen to ensure a super-premium gin, which is crisp, clean and seriously smooth. As with their signature gin, they use the best pure grain alcohol spirit, and water from the Brecon Beacons National Park. On the nose there is a rich and complex aroma, which is full of fresh juniper, which is joined perfectly with coriander. Hints of refreshing citrus mingle with oriental spices. When drank with a tonic, further flavours join the mix - with citrus from lemon, orange and bergamot. A touch of spice also comes through from cinnamon and close. This brings the flavours to life in the gin. Take a large glass and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150ml of your chosen tonic, and stir gently. Talisker Port Ruighe Whisky 70cl

Talisker Port Ruighe Whisky Produced on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, the Talisker distillery is the only functional single malt whisky distillery to be found there. In fact, whisky has been made there by the sea since 1830. Initially launched in 2013, Talisker's Port Ruighe (pronounced 'Port Ree') takes their classic Skye whisky and finishes it in ruby port casks. This is an homage to the Scottish traders who braved the seas and were instrumental in founding the port wine trade. This finishing process (which is a double maturation) ensures the edges are rounded - and brings a rich, berry fruity sweetness to the whisky. However the powerful maritime nature found in all Talisker whisky's is not lost, rather enhanced. With its dark, rich amber gold colour this whisky imparts an invitiving aroma from the glass. Well balanced, with a touch of sweetness joins smoke and rich plums. On the palate this is medium bodied and soft. Smoky and savoury, a spicy pepper builds into peat. Creamy smoke merges with spices and rich, dark fruits. It finishes long, leaving an intense cocoa-rich smokiness on the tongue. Johnnie Walker Green Label Whisky 70cl

Johnnie Walker Green Label Whisky Initially Johnnie Walker's Green Label was known as Johnnie Walker Pure Malt 15 Year Old when it was launched in 1997. However it was renamed to Green Label in 2004, which is what it is known as to this day. Green Label is a blended Malt Whisky which uses four different malts. These are Speyside, Highland, Lowland and the Scottish Islands and all of these are at least 15 years old. Each of these blends has a different signature style which is represented by Talisker, Linkwood, Cragganmore and Caol Ila. Each of the individual characteristics found within these matured malt whiskies are perfectly blended by Johnnie Walker, bringing together distinctly intense aromas of fresh cut grass, fresh fruits, wood smoke, pepper, vanilla and sandalwood. This blending gives a unique depth of character which can't be found in a single malt whisky. The resulting drink gives a nose which is rich and full, with a feeling of the fireplace coming from wood smoke, but joined with espresso, bitter chocolate and a woodiness from oak. On the palate this has a medium-body. Chocolate, coffee bean, cereals, a fruitiness reminiscent of dates and the nuttiness of walnut all come through. It lingers with a lengthy finish which is spicy, but mellowed with a touch of honey sweetness and a pleasant oakiness. J&B Rare Whisky The history behind J&B (Justerini & Brooks) goes back to 1749, when it was founded as a Fine Wine & Spirits merchant to supply the aristocratic houses of London. It even went on to supply every British Monarch since King George III in 1761. This, their J&B Rare Whisky first went on sale in 1933 following the end of prohibition in the US. The blend contains a total of 42 different single malt and grain whiskies from Scotland. These include distilleries like Knockando, Auchroisk and Glen Spey. Whilst the whisky was created with mixing in mind - it is most definitely versatile enough to be enjoyed neat, or on the rocks - with its smooth, fruity taste being enjoyed however you like. On the nose there are notes or orange zest and malt, with warming caramel, apples and walnuts. The palate is balanced, smooth and full of ripe fruit - with the malt and a delicate toffee sweetness. As the drink finishes, it remains exeptionally balanced - lingering, but not overly so to a medium finish with woody oak and a touch of cinnamon spice.  More from J&B Perfect Serve Whilst this is a whisky which is easily enjoyed on its own - we really liked this in a Whisky Ginger. Take a tall glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the whisky. Gently pour over 150ml of your favourite ginger ale (we liked it with Thomas Henry Ginger Ale). J&B Rare Whisky De geschiedenis achter J&B (Justerini & Brooks) gaat terug tot 1749, toen het werd opgericht als handelaar in Fine Wine & Spirits om de aristocratische huizen van Londen te bevoorraden. Het leverde zelfs elke Britse monarch sinds koning George III in 1761. Dit, hun J&B Rare Whisky, werd voor het eerst op de markt gebracht in 1933 na het einde van het verbod in de VS. De blend bevat in totaal 42 verschillende single malt- en graanwhisky's uit Schotland. Deze omvatten distilleerderijen als Knockando, Auchroisk en Glen Spey. Hoewel de whisky is gemaakt met het oog op mixen, is hij zeker veelzijdig genoeg om puur of met ijs van te genieten, met zijn zachte, fruitige smaak waar je van kunt genieten zoals je wilt. In de neus zitten tonen van sinaasappelschil en mout, met verwarmende karamel, appels en walnoten. De smaak is evenwichtig, soepel en vol rijp fruit - met mout en een delicate toffeezoetheid. Naarmate de drank afdronk, blijft hij uitzonderlijk evenwichtig: aanhoudend, maar niet overdreven, met een medium afdronk met houtachtig eikenhout en een vleugje kaneelkruiden. Meer van J&B Perfect Serve Hoewel dit een whisky is waar je gemakkelijk van kunt genieten, vonden we dit erg lekker in een Whiskey Ginger. Neem een groot glas gevuld met ijs en voeg 50 ml whisky toe. Giet er voorzichtig 150 ml van je favoriete ginger ale over (wij vonden het lekker met Thomas Henry Ginger Ale). Roer voorzichtig en voeg een schijfje of partje limoen toe.

Panda Bio Gin (Mini) 5cl

Panda Bio Gin Panda werd geboren toen vier vrienden samenkwamen om drankjes van hoge kwaliteit te maken. Na acht maanden van onderzoek en testen, kwamen ze tot het recept voor 's werelds eerste gin op basis van lychee. Het is gemaakt in de oudste distilleerderij van België (daterend uit 1836). Door gebruik te maken van deze distilleerderij maken zij gebruik van de kennis en ervaring en zorgen zij voor een kwalitatief hoogstaand product. Hoewel de lychee misschien wel de ster van de show is, is het niet de enige smaak die in deze oriëntaals geïnspireerde gin te vinden is. Naast jeneverbes gebruiken ze ook kersen, sinaasappelschil, basilicum, rozemarijn en Chinese badian. Wanneer ze worden gecombineerd, mengen deze perfect om een subtiele, maar krachtige smaak te geven. Het aroma is heerlijk, met een fruitigheid die zich vermengt met delicate kruidentonen. De smaak heeft een zoetheid, een vleugje kruidachtige groene tonen en slechts een delicaat vleugje kruiden. Elk past perfect bij elkaar. De afdronk is medium en laat een vleugje zoetheid achter op de tong. Lees meer over Panda Perfect Serve Dit is een gin die gemakkelijk op zichzelf kan worden genoten, gewoon geserveerd met ijs. Het werkt echter ook goed in cocktails die een zoetheid vereisen, of een klassieke G&T. We houden hiervan met zowel Fentimans Premium Indian Tonic, of probeer voor een oriëntaalse citrusnoot met hun Oriental Yuzu Tonic. Neem een groot glas gevuld met ijs en voeg 50 ml gin toe. Giet voorzichtig meer dan 150 - 200 ml tonic naar keuze en garneer met een schijfje sinaasappel.

Nikka Coffey Malt Whisky 70cl

Nikka Coffey Malt Whisky The history behind Nikka Coffey starts in the 1960's, and comes from the expertise of the Japanese Nikka Whisky company. They have decades of experience blending whiskies, and creating white spirits. Whilst 'Nikka' is the name of the company, Coffey refers to the type of still used to create the base distillate. This is a traditional continuous still, which produces the signature grain whiskies of Nikka. These were imported from Scotland to Japan in 1963. With their Malt Whisky, Nikka have gone somewhat against convention. Coffey stills are used by most distilleries only in creating grain whisky. But at theur Miyagikyo distillery they use their two Coffey stills to create this Malt whisky as well. Introduced in 2014, this is a whisky which is rich and full of flavour; definitely a welcome addition to their range of whiskies. This is a light amber colour in the glass, with a nose full of butterscotch, vanilla and sweet malt. Hints of caramel and winter spiced fruit also come through. In the mouth the spiced fruits, vanilla and butterscotch also come through - as on the nose. These are joined by a maltiness, and nuts. It finishes with a medium length, not overly lingering in the mouth. The butterscotch, malt and fruit linger to the end. More from Nikka Perfect Serve This can be enjoyed neat on its own at room temperature, or over ice. We liked this best with a large single ice-cube as it released additional flavours.

Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum 70cl

Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum At the top of Mount Gilboa, in the St Lucy's parish in Barbados, stood a small distillery, which was inherited by John Sober in 1703. A fourth generation Barbadian, Sir John Gay Alleyne was hired by the family to bring the distillery into the new era, and to honor the success of his innovation and achievements the distillery was renamed Mount Gay - a name that has a pedigree for excellence and craftmanship.  By taking the natural elements from Barbados, Mount Gay Rum is made by combining the local water, cane, and airbourne yeast. Not only a tradition, the process of refining the cane into sugar and then fermenting into molasses, produces the most essential ingredient for their rum. Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum is rich, complex and well rounded. Made using a traditional column and double retort pot still, the rum is then matured in ex-American whiskey casks, and finished in heavily charred ex-bourbon casks for 6 months (hence the name, Black Barrel).  This delicious rum has an aroma of woody and butter notes, which are balanced with dried fruit and spices. The taste is bold and aromatic, with notes of spicy gingerbread, sweet lychee and creamy toffee, and is well rounded and warm, with a medium body and long finish. For a delicious Black Barrel Daiquiri, add 60ml rum with 30ml freshly squeezed lime juice and 30ml sugar syrup in to a cocktail shaker full of ice. Blacks Irish Whiskey Maple Mayhem 70cl

Blacks Irish Whiskey Maple Mayhem Located on the Wild Atlantic Way (a scenic route in the south of Ireland), The Blacks Brewery was started in 2013. A family run company, it is owned and operated by Sam & Maudeline Black (hence the name!). Their ethos was to create (initially) beers which weren't mass market. They wanted products with passion and personality. In 2015 they decided to expand and added a state-of-the-art distillery which allowed them to produce spirits as well. Their first was gin, which was followed in 2018 with the first Irish Rum, and then in 2020 with whiskey. This cross-over also allow them to age their beers in spirit barrels, and vice versa - adding additional depths of flavour to their drinks. Blacks' whiskies are distilled in two copper stills, Morrigan and Bonny. They then mature the whiskies in a variety of different cask types depending on the finished whisky. They do all their own milling, mashing, fermenting and distilling themselves - which ensures the quality they expect from the final products. For their Maple Mayhem edition (which is non chill filtered), Blacks age their whiskey in maple bourbon casks. As Blacks put it, this gives the whiskey a delicious 'kiss' of vanilla and maple. On the nose there is a sweet introduction, as warm sugar notes come through. These are then joined by a hint of smoke, vanilla, maple and even baked prunes! The palate is smooth and oily, which coats the mouth well. Maple coated nutes, cinnamon pancakes and warm spice develop. This leads to a medium finish, not overwhelming the palate. Maple, oaky wood and a touch of smoke linger. More from Blacks Perfect Serve We recommend this is enjoyed straight up. However, as with all whiskey, enjoy however you like!

Crystal Head Onyx Vodka 70cl

Crystal Head Onyx Vodka De legende vertelt dat dertien kristallen schedels die door de inheemse stammen van Amerika (de Navajo, Azteken en Maya's) worden vastgehouden, kunnen worden gebruikt om positieve energie en verlichting te projecteren. Bij het horen van deze legende probeerden de oprichters van Crystal Head Vodka een fles te maken die de wodka waardig was die ze begonnen te produceren, en ze gaven ze ook een naam. (De fles is gemaakt in Europa en bevat kristal). Onyx itseff lijkt een krachtig krijgerkristal, en de zwarte fles van deze editie benadrukt dit. Het houdt verbinding met de aarde, geeft bescherming en laat geen licht binnen en absorbeert negativiteit. Het is een focus op positiviteit, een beroep doen op de innerlijke creatieve geest. Met hun Onyx-editie heeft Crystal Head een wodka gemaakt met premium Blue Weber Agave (die afkomstig is van een enkele boerderij in Mexico). Net als bij de andere Crystal Head-versies, wordt het gemengd met het zuiverste gletsjerwater uit Newfoundland, Canada. Net als alle andere Crystal Heads bevat deze geen oliën, suikers of additieven. Omdat dit is gemaakt met agave, heeft het eindproduct een schone, halfzoete afdronk. Het aroma geeft vers gras, met witte peper en zachte hints van citrus. Penderyn Single Malt Welsh Whisky - Peated "From Wales to the world..." - Penderyn Distillery The Penderyn distillery is located on the edge of the Brecon Beacons (a National Park in Wales, UK). It was launched on St David's Day in 2004 (the patron saint of Wales), in the presence of King Charles III (then HRH Prince Charles, who was the Prince of Wales).  The location was chosen due to a fresh natural spring located in the Village. They also use a unique copper single-pot still, which was designed by Dr David Faraday (a relative of the famous 19th Century Scientist). This was installed in 2000 and produces a spirit at 92%, which is an industry high. Penderyn state this is one of the reasons that their whiskies are light, fruity and full of flavour. As if this wasn't enough to ensure a world-class product, they hired Dr Jum Swan, a Scottish Whisky expert as their Master Distiller. Things have gone from strength to strength since their launch, and they have won over 100 Double Gold / Gold / Masters awards, and is available in over 50 countries the world over, including the key markets for whisky of France, Germany, the USA and China.  For their Gold range, in which their Peated edition sits, Penderyn have taken inspiration from Welsh Gold. Extremely rare, pure and precious it was worn by the legendary Welsh princes of old. Their peated edition (as the name would suggest) has a medium peaty character. Interestingly, this is also certified as Kosher. The nose has a sweet aromatic smokiness, with vanilla, green apple and refreshing citrus. The flavours are complex, yet gentle with a light smoke and citrus fruitiness. It finishes with smoke and vanilla. Mount Gay Eclipse Rum Op de top van Mount Gilboa, in de St. Lucy's parochie in Barbados, stond een kleine distilleerderij, die in 1703 werd geërfd door John Sober. Sir John Gay Alleyne, een Barbadiaanse vierde generatie, werd door de familie ingehuurd om de distilleerderij in het nieuwe tijdperk, en om het succes van zijn innovatie en prestaties te eren, werd de distilleerderij omgedoopt tot Mount Gay - een naam die een stamboom heeft voor uitmuntendheid en vakmanschap. Door de natuurlijke elementen uit Barbados te nemen, wordt Mount Gay Rum gemaakt door het lokale water, suikerriet en luchtgist te combineren. Niet alleen een traditie, het proces van raffinage van het riet tot suiker en vervolgens fermentatie tot melasse, produceert het meest essentiële ingrediënt voor hun rum. Mount Gay Eclipse Rum is vernoemd naar de totale zonsverduistering in 1910 die zichtbaar was boven Barbados. Meer van Mount Gay Perfect Serve Voeg voor een eenvoudige mixdrank 60 ml Mount Gay Eclipse toe aan een groot glas met vers geperst sap van 1/4 limoen. Vul aan met 125ml tonic water, roer voorzichtig en voeg een partje limoen toe - vergeet het ijs niet. Voor de cockail-liefhebbers, wat dacht je van een Cropover Tiki - voeg 45 ml Mount Gay Eclipse Rum, 22.5 ml vers geperst limoensap, 15 ml suikersiroop, 5 ml kaneelsiroop, 30 ml kokosmelk en 2 scheutjes Angotura Bitters toe aan een cocktailshaker met ijs en schud goed . Vlek in een gekoeld glas, garneer met een kaneelstokje en geniet ervan. Als je een feestje geeft, is de Silver Sands Punch perfect. Voeg 475 ml Mount Gay Eclipse Rum toe aan een punchkom met 60 ml Cointreau, 240 ml ananassiroop, 240 ml vers limoensap, 120 ml gekoeld water en 1/2 fles Brut Champagne. Roer tot het volledig gemengd is en garneer met ananasschijfjes, kaneelstokjes en limoenschijfjes.

Blacks Golden Rum 70cl

Blacks Golden Rum Gelegen aan de Wild Atlantic Way (een schilderachtige route in het zuiden van Ierland), werd The Blacks Brewery opgericht in 2013. Het is een familiebedrijf en is eigendom van en wordt geëxploiteerd door Sam & Maudeline Black (vandaar de naam!). Hun ethos was om (aanvankelijk) bieren te creëren die geen massamarkt waren. Ze wilden producten met passie en persoonlijkheid. In 2015 besloten ze uit te breiden en voegden ze een ultramoderne distilleerderij toe, waardoor ze ook gedistilleerde dranken konden produceren. Hun eerste was gin, die in 2018 werd gevolgd met de eerste Irish Rum en in 2020 met whisky. Deze cross-over stelt hen ook in staat om hun bieren te laten rijpen in gedistilleerde vaten, en vice versa, waardoor ze extra smaakdiepten aan hun drankjes toevoegen. Met hun Golden Rum schreef Blacks in 2018 geschiedenis door de allereerste Irish Rum te creëren. Dit wordt van begin tot eind gedistilleerd in hun distilleerderij in Kinsale met behulp van de beste suikerrietmelasse. Dit werd uitzonderlijk goed ontvangen op de wereldmarkt en won goud bij de World Rum Awards - geen geringe prestatie voor de eerste Irish Rum! De inspiratie achter de rum was de geschiedenis van piraten die in de 18e eeuw de Ierse kust plunderden en plunderden. Een duidelijke door mannen gedomineerde 'business', totdat Anne Bonny verscheen en de beroemdste vrouwelijke piraat ter wereld werd. De neus zal dessertliefhebbers onmiddellijk aanspreken, met aroma's van butterscotch, bonoffee pie en vanille maple syrup - evenals onderliggend gekonfijt fruit. In de mond is hij fluweelzacht, met rijke toffeesmaken aangevuld met mahonie, met karamel omhulde noten en een fruitige, lichte tot medium body. Verrukkelijk! Meer van Blacks Perfect Serve Dit is heerlijk met ijs en werkt ook goed in de mix. Probeer de modieuze piratencocktail. Voeg in een mengglas gevuld met ijs 60 ml rum, 2 scheutjes Angostura bitters, 10 ml water en 10 ml suikersiroop toe. Roer goed en zeef in een rocks glas. Garneer met een vleugje sinaasappelschil.
