Etsu Double Yuzu Gin Unlike the other two Etsu gins, Etsu have their Double Yuzu created at the Akita distillery on Honshu Island. Named after the prefecture it is based in, the Akita distillery is in Akita Prefecture. This prefecture is located on the coast of the Sea of Japan, and extends eastwards across the island towards the Ōu Mountains. From botanicals found in these mountains, the gin finds its fresh and light flavours. Over a seven day period, the botanicals used in the creation of this gin are macerated, to ensure all the flavours are extracted. These botanicals include Japanese Yuzu (as the name suggests), juniper, liquorice root, angelica, coriander and matcha. After final distillation, fresh water from the mountains is added - giving a fresh taste. This gin has a strong citrus aroma, from lemon and the yuzu. As this is a double yuzu gin, unsurprisingly this is a predominant flavour profile as well, with hints of lemon also to be found. Due to the citrus flavours, it also finishes fresh and light with a touch of zing. Jim Beam Double Oak Bourbon Whiskey First created in 1795, seven generations of the Beam family have now been crafting their Bourbon. Keeping their family values within which they were founded, they age their Bourbon twice as long as the law requires, imparting a special flavour. It's this dedication to quality that has made Jim Beam the world's number 1 Bourbon. For their Double Oak edition Jim Beam add a second stage to their aging. After the traditional 4-year aging process they tranfer the bourbon to freshly charred American White Oak barrels. This is then aged to taste. It is this second barreling which ensures an even deeper level of intense, spiced oakiness in the bourbon. The aroma of this Bourbon is rich, with notes of caramel and vanilla. This is rounded out by smoky toasted wood. However, in the words of their Master Distiller, drink it "Any Damn Way You Please". For a delicious Double Oak Old Fashioned Cocktail, take a mixing glass and fill with ice. Add 50ml of the Double Oak Bourbon, 4 dashes of bitters and 2 sugar cubes. Stir until the sugar cubes have melted, and strain into an old fashioned glass with a large ice cube in it. Squeeze the zest of an orange and lemon over the glass, and use as garnish.

Etsu Gin Double Orange Net als hun Double Yuzu Gin, laat Etsu hun Double Orange maken in de Akita-distilleerderij op Honshu Island. De Akita-distilleerderij is vernoemd naar de prefectuur waarin het is gevestigd en bevindt zich in de prefectuur Akita. Deze prefectuur ligt aan de kust van de Japanse Zee en strekt zich oostwaarts uit over het eiland in de richting van het Ōu-gebergte. Van plantaardige ingrediënten die in deze bergen worden gevonden, vindt de gin zijn frisse en lichte smaken. Gedurende een periode van zeven dagen worden de plantaardige ingrediënten die bij de creatie van deze gin zijn gebruikt, gemacereerd om ervoor te zorgen dat alle smaken worden geëxtraheerd. Deze plantaardige ingrediënten omvatten Japanse bittere sinaasappelschil (zoals de naam al doet vermoeden), jeneverbes, zoethoutwortel, engelwortel en koriander. It's a classic malt, and is first matured in traditional oak casks, before it then spends further time in American oak casks (and hence the Double Oak on the bottle). This second maturation on the American Oak gives notes of vanilla and also ensures its distinctive smoothness. This is a smooth, perfectly-balanced and fruity expression from The Glenlivet, with an enticing bright vibrant gold colour. On the nose this whisky gives real fruity notes, which are reminiscent of the summer. On the palate the balance works perfectly in the mouth, and imparts the fruitiness and in particular strong pineapple flavours. The finish is delicate, creamy and smooth, and takes the pineapple notes through right to the finish. Glendalough Double Barrel Irish Whiskey Created by a group of friends who came from County Wicklow and Dublin, The Glendalough Distilley was born of a passion to revive the heritage of craft distilling in Ireland. Glendalough itself is one of the most picturesque and visited valleys in Ireland. It is situated in County Wicklow, just south of Dublin within the Wicklow mountains. Whilst this is a beautifully complex whiskey, it's also light and easily drinkable. The double barrel reference comes from the Single Grain whiskey being twice aged in barrels from either side of the Atlantic ocean, each giving distinct flavour notes. The first barrels are American Oak Bourbon Barrels. These bring notes of vanilla, and sweet honey. These are the base flavours on this whiskey. The second barrels are Spanish Oak Oloroso barrels, which come from the small Andalisian town of Montilla (which is famous for the PX grape). This spanish oak adds layers of nuttiness, and dried fruits. On the nose there is a rich aroma, with dark fruits coming through - almost reminiscent of rich dried fruit puddings. This is joined by a delicate floral note, lemongrass, a hint of citrus and a touch of nutmeg. On the palate this is a delicious sweet and smooth flavour. Butterscotch, brown sugar and honey blend perfectly into dried fruits, a hint of peppercorns and maraschino cherries. The finish is of ginger spice, hints of almond and it ends grounded with a perfect earthiness. Fun Fact: The monk with his arms raised, seen on all Glendalough's bottles, is St. Kevin of Glendalough. The Macallan 12 Year Double Cask Whisky 70cl

The Macallan 12 Year Double Cask Whisky Founded in 1824 (making it nearly 200 years old) The Macallan distillery is located in Craigellachie, Moray in Scotland. The Macallen is classed as the second or third best-selling single malt scotch (behind Glenfiddich, and perhaps Glenlivet). Initially The Macallan was only matured in oak sherry casks, which the distillery brought from Jerez de la Frontera in Spain. However in 2004 they introduced the Fine Oak series (now known as the Triple Cask Matured range), which started mellowing whisky in bourbon oak casks as well as the classic sherry casks. The Double Cask whiskies encompass part of their core range, and this 12 Year whisky falls into this category. The Macallan team ensure a mix of European and American sherry seasoned oak casks - which allow the indulgent, yet delicate flavours of the American oak to take centre stage. The more traditional Macallan character is however still present (rich fruit, sherry and spiced wood), but in a familiar backdrop.  This is a single malt with a delightful autumnal sunset colour to it. Exceptionally well balanced, fully rounded with flavours of honey, citrus and ginger. The nose has oak, creamy butterscotch and vanilla - as well as fruit from toffee apples and candied oranges. On the palate honey, citrus and wood spices and the ginger comes through, which are perfectly balanced against raisins and caramel. The finish leaves oak lingering on the palate along with a sweet warmth. More from The Macallan Perfect Serve As with all whiskies, this is best drunk how you personally enjoy it. However the distillery recommends trying with a single large piece of ice. The large cube of ice melts slowly, diluting the drink less - ensuring you are able to enjoy a chilled drinking experience whilst tasting every drop of flavour.

The intense fruit flavour of this traditional classic is achieved by using a high sloe to gin ratio, just the right amount of sugar, and then patiently and slowly maturing it for at least 6 months. Rich, sweet fruit aromas of plum merge perfectly with flavours of Kirsch cherry and a hint of subtle spice. Warm and refreshing, 6 O'clock Sloe Gin is less intensely sweet than many other sloe gins, with a perfect balance between sweet fruit and the bitterness of sloes. If you want something more warming, try mixing 50ml of the sloe gin with 150ml of Double Dutch Ginger ale. Or perhaps our favourite is mixed with Double Dutch Indian Tonic. 50ml of the gin to 200ml of the tonic gives a really sweet and refreshing drink. Eagle Rare Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey This premium Bourbon is produced at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. This is the oldest continuously operating distillery in America.... so they know a thing or two about producing Bourbon Whiskey! The American bald eagle symbolised on the front gives an indication as to the contents of the bottle. This bird of prey is the symbol of American freedon and independence. It symbolises the rarity of the Bourbon, released only in limited quantities, and known as one of America's best bourbons. In fact it is the only Bourbon to receive a Double Gold medal five times at the renowned World Spirits Competition in San Francisco! There are a number of requirements for a Bourbon to be labelled as a 'straight bourbon'. They need to have been aged for a minimum of two years (and if under four, the age must be shown), and not have any added colouring, flavouring or other spirits. Eagle Rare has been aged for at least ten years, with each barrel being carefully selected   This attention to detail, and long ageing process ensures that this is definitely a rare, and delicious Bourbon.  It has a complex nose, with delicious aromas of toffee - joined by hints of orange peel, herbs, honey, and warming leather and oak. On the palate the taste is dry and bold. A delicate touch of red fruits and honey rounds out the candied almonds and distinctive rich cocoa. Met behulp van verse citrusvruchten worden ze in kleine batches gedistilleerd om een ​​constante kwaliteit te garanderen. Talisker Port Ruighe Whisky Produced on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, the Talisker distillery is the only functional single malt whisky distillery to be found there. In fact, whisky has been made there by the sea since 1830. Initially launched in 2013, Talisker's Port Ruighe (pronounced 'Port Ree') takes their classic Skye whisky and finishes it in ruby port casks. This is an homage to the Scottish traders who braved the seas and were instrumental in founding the port wine trade. This finishing process (which is a double maturation) ensures the edges are rounded - and brings a rich, berry fruity sweetness to the whisky. However the powerful maritime nature found in all Talisker whisky's is not lost, rather enhanced. With its dark, rich amber gold colour this whisky imparts an invitiving aroma from the glass. Jameson Irish Whiskey John Jameson, the founder, moved to Ireland from Scotland, and in 1780 started producing whiskey in Dublin, Ireland in 1780. Produced ever since, it is now produced at the New Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland. A blended whiskey, its produced by taking selecte pot still and fine grain whiskies. These are then triple distilled. This gives Jameson it's signature smoothness. Once this process is completed, the whiskey is aged for a minimum of four years in oak casks.  The result of this is the world's best selling Irish Whiskey. On the nose it has a light floral fragrance, which has spicy wood and sweet notes. On the palate there is a perfect balance of the spicy, nutty and vanilla notes. There are hints of a sweet sherry as well, which enhances the smoothness of this whiskey. It finishes with a mellow smoothness, lingering pleasantly on the palate.
