Van Linschoten Slagers Gin An interesting collaboration between Slagerij van Linschoten in Rotterdam and the Onder de Boompjes distillery in Schiedam has given us a delicious and unique gin experience.   Slagers Gin was made to celebrate 110 years of Slagerij van Linschoten, and is distilled using steak herbs (a mix of garlic, oregano, coriander, dried pepper and sea salt) from the shop. This unique selection of botanicals are used in combination with the more traditional botanicals, including juniper (of course) and work really well together. This premium gin is incredibly smooth with a soft taste profile. The herbs give a delicious flavour which lead to a light peppery finish and are heightened when served with the special garnish - a dried, smoked orange wheel. Fresh oranges are sliced, dried and smoked at Van Linschoten adding a unique taste to a G&T. Each bottle of Slagers Gin comes with a pot of smoked orange slices for the full taste experience.  More from Van Linschoten Perfect Serve This gin is perfect for a G&T and when served with a nice piece of meat. Jin Jiji India Dry Gin JIN JIJI komt uit de geboorteplaats van de Gin & Tonic, en uit het land dat de thuisbasis is van enkele van 's werelds meest diverse botanische producten - India. They have crafted a gin that portrays the unique flavours of India, using the herbs and spices which are commonly found in Indian cooking. Further to this, they have taken juice from the native Indian mango  and infused the gin with the juice. Hayman's Royal Dock Gin In 1863 opende James Burrough een kleine distilleerderij in Chelsea, Londen. Hij experimenteerde met een aantal ginrecepten en gaf ze namen als Burrough's, Olde Chelsey, Beefeater en Black Cat. Het was James die de London Dry gin bedacht, die tegenwoordig bekend en geliefd is (in die tijd was Old Tom de favoriete gin van Londen). Het was dit wat leidde tot de ontwikkeling van het merk Beefeater Gin... maar het gaf ook de aanzet tot het merk Hayman's gin. Henry's Gin Produced on the Caribbean island of Curaçao, this gin is produced by Henry van der Kwast (from where the name of the gin comes from). His ancestors have lived on the island since 1659, and were involved in the development of Senior Genuine Curaçao Liqueur. The island is pristine, and has exotic vegetation - and its this which helps to give Henry's Gin its exceptional character. They use four traditional locally grown botanicals and citrus peels in its production.  Henry himself experimented to find the right botanicals for the gin, and along with Juniper used lemongrass, oregano and yerba buena. But it was missing something. Finally he chose Laraha orange, a remarkable citrus fruit which is only found on Curaçao. Whilst inedible due to its extreme bitterness, the zest contains essential oils which give a delicious aroma. Working with the Senior Genuine Curaçao Liqueur Distillery Henry found a way to incorporate this - and so Henry's Gin was born. The gin itself has been received to much acclaim. Daartoe maken ze hun drankjes met de hand met alleen 100% natuurlijke ingrediënten die ze (waar mogelijk) lokaal inkopen. Voor hun natuurlijke droge gin heeft Wildjac inspiratie gehaald uit diep in hun huis, het Wyre Forest. Fun fact: The T at the end of Moët is pronounced (Mo-et), as the founder was French-born but had a surname of Dutch origin! They own 1,190 hectares (or 2,900 acres) of vineyards, from which they produce approximately 28 Million bottles of champagne annually. This, their Imperial Brut was first introduced in 1869, and is their best-selling brand. It is made from a blend of over 100 different wines - of these, 20 - 30% are reserve wines which are specially selected to enhance the maturity, complexity and constancy of the finished champagne. Between 30 and 40% are Pinot Noir, giving body. 30 - 40% are Pinot Meunier which adds suppleness, and 20 - 30% if chardonnay - giving finesse. The resulting champagne is an elegant golden straw colour, with almost green highlights. The aroma is vibrant, and full of both green apple and citrus fruits. A touch of white flowers leads into an enticing brioche, cereal and fresh nuts bouquet. The palate brings sumptuous notes of pears, apples and peaches. It is this lifestyle " La Dolce Via" (the sweet life) that inspired Malfy Gin.  The delistillery where Malfy Originale Gin is produced is situated in Moncalieri, just outside Torino. This area is famed for its production of fine wines and spirits. It's said that avid climbers Carlo Vergnano and Beppe Ronco (the distillers behind Malfy Gin) were inspired during a climb to the top of Monviso (which can be seen from the distillery). There they saw wild juniper, pure water, and amazing colours of nature and lakes. This gin, their classic dry gin, is made using the botanicals that inspired them. Hand-picked juniper, sun-ripened Italian lemons, and water from the Piedmont region. When expertly distilled, these give the authentic taste of Malfy Originale Gin. The aroma is a classic gin, with a strong aroma of juniper, mixing with coriander and anise. The flavour is typical of a dry, almost lightly salty gin, with a complex juniper flavour and liquorice. However the slight hint of citrus says Malfy.  Fun to know.... the blue colour of the label is inspired by the mountain lakes, and the white of the label the snow capped peak of Monviso. MOM God Save the Gin Royal Smoothness "Always wear your invisible crown with MOM, the Queen of the Gins" With the aim of breaking stereotypes, the producers of MOM Gin (González Byass) created their Royal Smoothness edition. Even the design of the bottle is intended to represent the two sides of the British character; Tradition, and modernity. The gin itself is smooth (as you would suggest from the name) and distinctive. It's made with a total of four distillations which use exoic botanicals. The succesive distillations help ensure the smooth qualities of the gin. After this process the gin is infused with red berries (sweet raspberries, and tart, ripe redcurrants) which imbue their sweet fruity flavours.  Whilst MOM definitely exudes a feminine, fashionable and sophisticated feel, this is easily enjoyed by any who like their gins sweet and fruity. This is great for those who like their gin with a quieter note of juniper. The flavour of this gin is sweet and is full of the berry flavours and aromas, with the juniper being far more delicate (although it's still present). Read more about MOM Perfect Serve To create a delicious G&T take a large glass and fill with ice, pour 50ml of Mom Royal Smoothness and mix with a 150 - 200ml of a neutral tonic (we recommend Three Cents Tonic). Garnish with a couple of Maraschino Cherries and you can even add a few drops of the syrup to create a pink hue to the drink and a little sweetness. If you like your drink super fruity, replace the tonic with Three Cents Cherry Soda. Dont forget extra cherries to garnish as well!

L'Arbre Gin With over 63 year experience, Teichenné Liquors have used their knowledge and expertise to create L’Arbre gin (L’Arbre is Catalan for “the tree”). Founded in Arboç (Tarragona), the owner (Marc Teichenné) has utilised botanicals of the Mediterranean Penedès area of Spain, creating the perfect formulation for a unique gin to enjoy those special moments. It is an exceptionally well-balanced gin, with the botanicals blending perfectly (these include thyme, basil, lavender and rosemary – all quintessential Mediterranean herbs). Whilst it has the balanced herbal flavour palette, it is also freshened with delightful notes of citrus, with the juniper taking a less leading role, blending with the other botanicals as almost a back note. Basil is noticeable, but this is balanced well with lavender. The tree (from which the gin takes its name) on the front of the bottle has a story of its own. A simple, classic bottle, the tree is front and centre. The roots symbolise the past, and the foundation. The branches represent what is to come and the future. The trunk holds the experience of the three generations of the company. Truly a Mediterranean gin, with a great provenance, made to enjoy unique moments. Bombay Original London Dry Gin The history behind the Bombay Sapphire brand goes back to 1986 in England, where the gins were distilled in Warrington. However in 2014 their home moved to a dedicated distillery at Laverstock Mill in Hampshire. They distill their gins using vapour infusion. This method suspends the botanicals over the boiling alcohol, and the vapour is infused with the flavours and aromas of the botanicals as it passes over them. This is a more delicate method of distilling, and  results in a  lighter and more floral taste. Two of their four stills (of the carterhead variety, and named Tom and Mary) date back to the 1830's. Whereas their Bombay Sapphire Gin, found in the blue bottles) use 10 different botanicals, their Bombay London Dry Gin uses only 8 carefully selected botanicals.  These are Juniper Berries, Liquorice, Cassia Bark, Coriander Seeds, Angelica Root, Lemon Peel, Orris (Iris) root and Almonds. Their recipe takes inspiration from an original dating back  to 1761. On the nose this has a fresh aroma, with grassy herbal notes, piney juniper and hints of lemon citrus. This leads into a palate which is equally fresh and full of classic dry juniper flavours. These are enhanced by a mild hint of lemon and more herbal notes from coriander. It finishes crisp and clean leaving the palate with pleasant dryness.
