Black Tears Dry Spiced Rum (Mini) 5cl

Black Tears Dry Spiced Rum (Mini) 5cl

Black Tears Dry Spiced Rum Coming from Cuba, a place where people don’t hold back and they express their true emotions - this is a drink made to evoke emotion. This even goes into where the name came from. Inspiration was taken from a Cuban song (Lagrimas Negras), which tells the story of a young woman who was so overcome with emotion that she sobbed into a vat of rum, filling it with her sorrows. Black Tears is a rum pack full of emotion, which aims to celebrate the contemporary Cuba. This is a blend of Cuban rum and spices. Its based on a silver dry rum from one of the best Cuban distilleries and is the first dry spiced cuban rum on the market. Setting itself apart from other spiced rums, this has a bittersweet taste and a low sugar content (typical for Cuban rums). The spices used are coffee and cacao, and aji dulce (a sweet pepper, used heavily in local cuisine).  This is a rum which has a cool, golden intensity - which is both bright and clear. The flavour has a gentle sweetness from cocoa, which is accompanied with a punch from coffee on the finish. There is also an intruiging peppery spice, which lingers deliciously.  This is an elegant, and overall very well-balanced dry spiced rum. Rea more about Black Tears Perfect Serve A versatile rum, this can be enjoyed on its own or in the mix. We love this as a Tears 'n' Cola. In a highball glass filled with ice add 50ml of the rum, and pour over 150ml of your favourite cola. Stire, and garnish with a slice of lime

Mermaid Spiced Rum (Mini) 5cl

Mermaid Spiced Rum Presented in a stunning "fish-scale" like bottle with a cork stopper, this rum is hand-crafted on the Isle of Wight (a small island off the south coast of the UK).  Mermaid Spiced Rum is a carefully selected blend of sugar cane and molasses rum from Trinidad and the Dominican Republic which have been aged between 2-5 years in oak bourbon whiskey barrels. On its arrival into the distillery, the blend is infused with local fruits and spices found on the Isle of Wight. The botanicals include rock samphire, fresh white cherry and apricot, honey from their own beehives and black salt from their floodtides. It is gently spiced using local holy grass, cassia and vanilla, resulting in a smooth yet complex rum with a hint of sea air, delicate caramel notes and a vibrant fruity spice. Did you know? The Isle of Wight Distillery care about the environment. In 2019, they completely removed plastic from their bottles. In 2021 they switched to only using 100% renewable energy suppliers at the distillery and in 2022 they achieved B Corp Certification - meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. More from The Isle of Wight Distillery Perfect Serve Mermaid rum is delicious in a mixed drink or cocktail. For a Mermaid Spiced Rum & Ginger, pour 50ml rum into a glass filled with ice and top up with ginger ale (we like it with Fentimans Ginger Ale). Garnish with a sprig of mint and a maraschino cherry and enjoy. If you love a cocktail, how about a rich and indulgent Bananarumba. Firstly, rim the glass with melted chocolate, then pour 35ml Mermaid Spiced Rum, 20ml banana liqueur, 15ml chocolate liqueur and 75ml oat milk into a cocktail shaker with ice. Roll it gently (no need to shake), until everything is blended together and nicely chilled. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a slice of caramilised banana.

Minke Irish Gin (Mini) 5cl

Minke Irish Gin The founders of the Clonakilty distillery (located on the southwest coast of Ireland), the Scully family, have farmed their windswept coastal area of 9 successive generations. Through their love of the land, and knowledge of the area they found the best resouces for a maritime distillery. The distillery itself is located right at the waterfront, in the heart of Clonakilty town. Not only do they distill here, but also offer the public the option to see how their fantastic drinks are made. Produced at their distillery, Minke Irish gin is inspired by the maritime environment. From the Minke Whales seen swimming off the coast (giving their gin its name), to the Rock Samphire, a key botanical in their gin. This is sustainably harvested by hand from the Atlantic Ocean coastline and gives the gin a distinctly martitime flavour. Centuries of sea mist, soft rain and ocean spray provide a complexity to the soil that permeates through to the grass which feeds the cows that help produce whey. It is this whey that is used to create the base alcohol spirit used in making their Minke gin. It also gives a unique velvety texture and mouthfeel to it. This truly is a full circle gin, going 'from grass to glass'. Good to know: The Clonakilty Distillery support Whale and Dolphin Conservation in their worldwide quest to protect these majestic creatures. On the nose this is crisp and dry, reminiscent of a sea breeze. The flavour is also fresh and zesty. As the drink develops on the palate the Rock Samphire comes through with green, fennel-like flavours. It finishes with a slight saltiness, and warmth from red peppercorns. More from the Clonakilty Distillery Perfect Serve This makes a deliciously refreshing Gin & Tonic. Take a large glass and add a few large ice cubes. Pour in 60ml of Minke Gin and 120ml of your favourite tonic. We like Three Cents Tonic Water, or if you're feeling like adding more maritime notes - try with Three Cents Aegean Tonic Water. Garnish with two slices of lemon or lime and a fresh mint leaf.

Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (Mini) 5cl

Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (Mini) 5cl

Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt Scotch Whisky First produced in Scotland by Willian Grant & Sons in 2003, Monkey Shoulder is a blended malt whisky (the style used to be called 'Vatted Malt Whisky'). Since it's introduction it has fast grown to become the world's third best-selling brand of Scotch Whisky.  Whilst Monkey Shoulder has only been produced since 2003, William Grant & Sons has been distilling award-winning Scotch whiskies since 1887. It was created primarily to ensure the perfect whisky cocktail (but of course can also be enjoyed straight!). It was originally a blend from the Balbenie, Glenfiddich, and Kininvie distillers - but it's current composition is a secret. However it is known that its constituent malt whiskies originate from the Speyside region of Scotland (the area around the River Spey in northeastern Scotland). Fun Fact: The brand name 'Monkey Shoulder' is a reference to a repetitive strain injury which distillery workers often suffered from. This was due to long shifts turning malt by hand. On the nose there is zesty orange, with vanilla honey and spiced oak. On the palate there is a mild vanilla flavour, with hints of spice. As it was made to be mixed, its smooth, malty and fruit notes are strong enough to stand out in the mix - but remain balanced so as not to over-power a cocktail. More from Monkey Shoulder Perfect Serve As mentioned, this is a whisky which was made for mixing - and so we have a couple of options. Firstly, for a refreshing OMG (Orange / Monkey / Ginger), a variation on the Ginger Mule. Take a tall glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the Monkey Shoulder and 120ml of your favourite ginger ale (we like Fentimans). Stir gently and garnish with a wedge of Orange. For a Rob Roy Cocktail, take a mixing glass filled with ice and add 50ml of Monkey Shoulder, 25ml of Sweet Vermouth, and 3 dashes of Angostura Bitters. Mix well until chilled and then strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with some orange zest.

Portobello Road London Dry No. 171 Gin (Mini) 5cl

Portobello Road London Dry No. 171 Gin (Mini) 5cl

Portobello Road London Dry No. 171 Gin Whilst it may be better known for its saturday markets (which is famous for its second-hand clothes, pastries and antiques), Portobello Road in the west of London holds another secret... On the top two floors of a 19th century pub is The Ginstitute. London's second-smallest museum and home to a 30L alembic still, "Copernicus the Second". Whilst creating The Ginstiture, its creators (Ged, Jake and Paul) decided that to be a 'real' gin experience, they needed a gin which could call The Ginstitute home. So, after nine months of experimention, Portobello Road London Dry No. 171 Gin was born. They distill using a base spirit which is created from English-grown wheat, and join this with nine other carefully selected botanical ingredients including Juniper berries and Orris from Tuscany, Spanish Lemon Peels, Bitter Orange peels from Haiti or Morocco, Nutmeg from Indonesia and Cassia Bark from South East Asia. On the front of the palate, Portobello Road Gin has a generous hit of juniper, mid-palate there is a sustained, fresh citrus character from lemon, bitter orange and coriander, which then develops into a sweet peppery finish from liquorice and nutmeg. Read more about Portobello Road Perfect Serve Best served simply with tonic and a twist of pink grapefruit! Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of tonic (we like The Artisan Co Classic London Tonic).

Abstinence Aperitif Non-Alcoholic Blood Orange (Mini) 5cl

Abstinence Aperitif Non-Alcoholic Blood Orange (Mini) 5cl

Abstinence Aperitif Non-Alcoholic Blood Orange With a desire to create a range of complex, sophisticated, and most importantly delicious non-alcoholic drinks, Abstinence have taken inspiration from the Cape Fynbos Floral Kingdom. This is a biodiverse region in the Western Cape of South Africa. Whilst it might be the smallest biological kingdom, its one of the most diverse in the world.  For their Aperitif, Abstinence wanted to create the perfect drink for enjoying on its own, in a spritz, or for creating perfect low alcohol cocktails.  The flavours come entirely from the botanical ingredients, and contain no added sugar, sweeteners or flavourings. Everything is natural, and from the Cape. The key botanicals in this drink are African Wormwood, Cinchona Bark, All Spice, Clove, Blood Orange and Spice Distillate.  This ensures a flavour which is reminiscent of Italian-style bitters, and has a dominant citrus note from the blood orange. This blends with the natural botanicals and spices, along with the African Wormwood, which gives a distinct mouth-watering, bittersweet mouthfeel. More from Abstinence Perfect Serve This can easily replace a classic aperitif, or bitter (such as Campari) in any of your cocktails. It's also delicious enjoyed on its own For a no-guilt spiritz, take a large Gin or Wine glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the aperitif. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of either Soda or Tonic Water. Garnish with a twist of orange peel.

Rynbende Vintage Genever (Mini) 5cl

Rynbende Vintage Genever (Mini) 5cl

The Mayor of Exploration: Rynbende Vintage Genever Introduction Rynbende have a history going back more than 200 years. The distillery was established in 1793, by Simon Rybende in the world's Jenever capital, Schiedam. A former sailor, he turned to business, and distilling, and was even appointed the Mayor of Schiedam. A New Generation of Rynbende The Rynbende brand has had highs and lows during it's history and was re-ignited again in 2022, when the original Rynbende recipes were passed down to another generation through inheritance . Now called Rynbende Spirits, the focus is on producing high end spirits, with a selective distribution network (of which Gin Fling is happy to be one). Authentic Rynbended Botanicals Rynbender Vintage Genever was the first spirit to be launched and based on an old recipe found in the inherited recipe book. 'The Mayor of Exploration' is an old genever and is an ode to the glory days of the original distillery, containing authentic botanicals (peppermint leaf, angelica seed, cinnamon, clove, hyssop, angelica root, cardamom and mace) which gave it it's signature taste, setting it apart from the competition. Traditional Distilling Rynbende is distilled according to the Schiedam tradition from 1902, which produces a purer drink. It is made with malt wine that has been aged for 3 years in American oak barrels, and with smoky malt whiskey and vodka aged in European oak barrels for 25 years. This is a drink that will suit both jenever and whiskey lovers alike. Tasting Notes Aroma: Juniper berries are combined with cinnamon, camphor and a hint of peat, with underlying floral and fresh citrus notes Taste: Warm, woody notes are complimented by mint leaves, cloves, a touch of lemon and a delicate sweetness. Finish: Intense and long, More from Rynbende Perfect Serve Perfect to sip neat, Rynbende Vintage Genever is also great in cocktails. Inspired by the 'Dark n Stormy' but with genever instead or rum, how about a Stormy at Sea. Flll a glass with ice and squeeze in the juice of half a lime. Add 100ml ginger beer and pour 50ml Rynbende Vintage Genever over the back of a spoon so you get a nice layer on the top. Add a wedge of lime and enjoy. FAQ's What is the difference between genever and gin? Genever is only ever made from grains like rye, malted barley and corn, whereas Gin can be distilled from anything, including grains, grapes and even potatoes. Genever is often described as a cross between gin and whiskey and appeals to drinkers of both spirits. Where is Rynbende Vintage Genever made? It is distilled using traditional methods in Schiedam, known as the Jenever capital of The Netherlands. How should Rynbende Vintage Genever be served? Neat, on the rocks, or in a cocktail. It tastes great with ginger beer and works well in a variation of a Dark n Stormy cocktail.  What food works well with Rynbende Vintage Genever? Perfect when paired with seafood, whether it's a seafood banquet, tuna sushi, a salmon and cream cheese baguette or spicy mussels.
