ORILYSE contains 5% xylene in sweet almond oil. Sweet almond oil acts as an emollient to soften the earwax blockage and xylene acts as a solvent to dissolve it. Obstruction of the ear canal can be caused by the contact of earwax with water, for example after bathing, or by cleaning with a cotton ball or other means, pushing the wax particles towards the ear canal.alto of the eardrum and thus creating a block.
