Aeonium 'Lady Whistledown' - New for 2024

A true vibrant emerald green Aeonium with copper branches, this is a low growing and compact Aeonium.  Its heads are tight rosettes and her leaves are delicate with a sharp saw tooth margins giving it an unusual appearance for an Aeonium.  This plant is reminiscent of Bridgerton's Lady Whistledown with her copper tones, green dresses and her many faces!  Hoping this will be our Emerald of the season! In about 3 years the plant will create a small shrub with many heads.  We have found this Aeonium to be no more difficult to look after than the rest, and potting on and feeding during the growing season ensures it reaches its maximum potential.  We have kept it frost free over winter at +2 degrees and let it enjoy all the lovely sunshine in the summer months to capture all the wonderful vibrant green colour. Known as "the Healing Plant" this Aloe is said to have properties beneficial to the skin. This plant grows as a single rosette that will very slowly offset. Its leaves are shades of green, and quite long, in habitat they could be as long as 1m, in 5 years here you could expect 30cm growth. A fantastic highly sort after hybrid Echeveria with beautiful green and white variegated leaves. One for the collector or more experienced succulent grower. The rosette heads can grow up to 25cm across if potted on before they lift upwards and offset. Flowers are tall growing, orange/pink/yellow and shepherd's crook in nature. This plant benefits from a slightly shadier summer position than most Echeverias due to its strong variegation and lower levels of chlorophyll, it is likely to scorch in strong direct light.
