Viscose jersey navy

Viscose jersey navy

Viscose + jersey = a new favourite Viscose and jersey are two popular terms within textiles. In this fabric, we combine the two qualities, giving you a light and soft material with good breathability and comfortable stretch.  Colourful designs Whether you prefer black and white, earthy tones or vibrant colours – you'll find the entire colour palette in this fabric. Choose one or more favourites, get out your sewing machine, and sew your new outfit.  The material is suitable for almost all types of clothing, but of course, we have some favourites.  One of them is the classic top. Once you've found the right fit, you can easily change its look by simply choosing a new colour. Or how about making small adjustments in the design, so you have your favourite top with short, ¾, and long sleeves?  The fabric is suitable for much more than classic tops! Use it for dresses, leggings, trousers, and skirts. Find plenty of inspiration in our sewing patterns or design your own favourite.  A bit of practicality Viscose has been used for clothing for over 100 years. The fabric consists of processed and regenerated cellulose from sources like wood pulp or cotton waste. It's similar to natural fibres like cotton and silk. Here, the viscose is mixed with elastane (6%), giving you a stretchable viscose.  You choose the length you need for your sewing project. The fabric measures 145 cm in width and shrinks by 6% when washed.  When working with jersey, we recommend using a jersey needle, characterised by having a medium point – also known as ball point. The needle easily penetrates the knitted quality and prevents stitches and threads from running. For this type of jersey, we recommend jersey needles in size 70/80. What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®? OEKO-TEX® is the world's leading health label for textiles.  When the fabric is certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, it's your guarantee that it has been tested and approved and is free from any harmful chemicals.

Let the surface wrinkle naturally for a relaxed and modern look, or iron the tablecloth before use for a completely smooth surface.   Linen – the natural material Linen is a natural fibre that has been used for clothing for thousands of years. It is a durable, light, breathable and absorbent material, often used in warm weather. It tends to wrinkle and is therefore perfect for a more casual look.   Did you know that linen becomes softer when you wash it a few times?   A bit more about this linen The fabric is made of 100% linen, comes in a width of 135 cm and precisely the length you need. This linen shrinks 5% in wash.   We recommend using universal needles in size 80 when sewing in this linen.

Ribbon woven 32mm navy 3m

Woven rainwear quality navy

Woven rainwear quality navy

Wind and waterproof, ready for the rain Rainwear is practical when it's raining, but the fact is, it can be challenging to find rainwear with a good fit. The legs are too long, the sleeves too wide, and that small pocket for the key is missing. You can solve this by designing and sewing your own rainwear! Choose, for instance, this exquisite rainwear quality, which is soft, fabric-like and sporty in its expression. It has a membrane on the back, making it perfect for all weather conditions – and suitable for both children and adults. The quality is wind and waterproof with a water column pressure of 7,000 mm and good breathability of 3,000 mm. Sew smart rainwear This material is naturally suited for classic rainwear that you can adjust to your exact size. However, the fabric-like surface also makes it especially suitable for a neat waterproof coat or perhaps an all-in-one suit with a tie belt at the waist? Alternatively, you can use this fabric as the backside for a picnic blanket, ensuring everyone sits dry and comfortable – even if it's rained in the past few days or the dew has set in. Keep your project waterproof by using the right seams: Search for "seam tape for rainwear fabric" and find a free guide. About water column pressure Water column pressure indicates the height of a water column the material can withstand before water begins to penetrate. The higher the water column pressure, the more waterproof. A good rule of thumb is that +2,000 mm is suitable for light rain showers/short trips in the rain, while +5,000 is for a heavier rain shower or a few hours in light rain. If you're out in heavy rain, we recommend +8,000 mm. Some practical details This fabric consists of 100% polyester and measures 140 cm in width, and you, of course, choose the length you need for your DIY project. We recommend using a universal needle size 70.

Shiny satin navy

Shiny satin navy

Sewing in satinFancy a glossy look for your DIY project? Then you should consider satin! The special weave gives a nice glossy front, a more matte back and a nice shiny look! Our Savina satin is available in many beautiful colours! Find your favourites and order exactly the length you need. Beautiful designs in satinUse satin to create beautiful accessories for everyday and on special occasions. For example, sew a puffy bag or tote bag that you can use for everyday and on special festive occasions. You can also choose to use the shiny fabric as a lining in your project; it adds a beautiful finish. And then, of course, you can use satin for clothing - for example, a nice satin shirt, a pair of cool satin trousers or maybe a jumpsuit with a drawstring waist. The fabric has a width of 135 cm and shrinks about 3% in the wash. It can be washed at 30°, always hang dry and iron at low heat. TIP: Use good quality fleece and interfacing to stabilise smaller parts like collars and cuffs. We recommend ironing it on before cutting out the pattern pieces - and remember to iron without steam (water can leave small stains and the high temperatures from the steam can change the surface of the fabric!) Search "9 tips for sewing satin" for more tips.  What is satin?Satin refers to the way the fabric is woven, where one side of the material is smooth and shiny. For this satin you will need microtex needles.  What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®?OEKO-TEX® is the world-leading label for textiles tested for harmful substances.Once the fabric has achieved a STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, it is your guarantee it has been tested and approved not to contain any harmful chemicals.Meaning it is neither harmful to you nor your health and it’s less harmful to the environment.
