Organic slub stretch jersey black

Organic slub stretch jersey black

Organic, Soft, and Stretchy With this type of jersey, you get organic cotton mixed with elastane, knitted using a technique that provides a subtle and delightful texture on the surface. Take a look at the picture, where you get up close to the quality – here you can sense the elegant structure.  The Small Details The surface is wonderful for many things: Use it for classic t-shirts with neutral, feminine, or masculine cuts. Or sew a lovely little bodysuit for the youngest in the family – perhaps with small ruffle details?  This material is soft and comfortable with good breathability. The stretch provides freedom of movement, and overall, it's just a light and delightful quality.  What is slub stretch jersey? This name refers to a classic knitted jersey fabric with stretch, where "slub" refers to the fine little irregularities in the fabric due to varying thread thicknesses. It provides a slightly rustic look.  Some Practical Information This fabric consists of 96% organic cotton and 4% elastane. You choose the length you need for your sewing project – the width is 155 cm. The fabric shrinks 6% when washed.  When working with jersey, we recommend using a jersey needle, characterised by its medium tip – also known as ball point. The needle easily penetrates the knitted quality and prevents stitches and threads from running. For this type of jersey, we recommend jersey needles in size 70/80. Organic Products with this label consist of 95% organic content or more. They meet the highest international requirements regarding organic farming, environmental protection, and social responsibility. Under this category, you'll find a wide range of fabrics, sewing threads, and yarns.

Mending yarn cotton black 15m

Mending yarn cotton black 15m

Ready, set, mend! Have you also jumped head first into the mending-wave? Mending yarn gives you the opportunity to repair your clothes, bags and so forth – revamping and upcycling with beautiful and visible mending stitches! Er you ready?  Cotton mending yarn This 100% cotton darning yarn (also called mending yarn) comes in 8 pretty colours. It has a mat but smooth surface and consists of 4 single strands. This enables you to divide the yarn and use single strands if you are mending a thin material. Or you can use it as it is – for instance on denim. How to do mending Place a small piece of fabric under the hole you mean to mend. Hand stitch over it in straight lines in different directions until a nice pattern has formed. You can also use mending yarn for more seamless and less visible repairs, but the look of visible mending is fantastic. Use it on everything from knitted sweaters with holes to woolen bodysuits, beanies, mittens and socks.  Great accessories to use when mendingApart from mending yarn we also stock a long list of accessories that we recommend you use when mending: -         Embroidery needle - with and without a rounded tip-         Pair of small embroidery scissors-         Embroidery frame-         Thimble-         Water soluble marker pen Everything suggested here can be purchased in different versions. Choose just what is right for you and your project! Woolen mending yarn also available We also stock a woolen version of mending yarn! This one is 55% wool and 45% nylon, and it comes in 20 different colours. This type of darning yarn is great for mending socks, knitwear and ‘thicker’ materials because the beautiful woolen look of the yarn matches these types of projects perfectly.

Dralon black water repellent

Dralon black water repellent

Looking for new cushions and pillows for the terrasse? Dralon is your mate!Dralon is the fabric for outdoor living – elegant and practical with its water-resistant surface, high light fastness and durable characteristic. Perfect for many hours under the sun. Outdoor fabrics for the terrasseOur Dralon works wonders made into cushion covers and pillows, but also used as a tablecloth for the terrasse, the balcony or the garden. Water-resistant fabricDralon® is coated with CerdaCoat® to make it water/stain-repellent. It is not waterproof though. It is important to iron Dralon® after washing to maintain the coating. Fabric with a high light-fastnessEven though Dralon has a high light-fastness we still recommend not to leave your homemade beauties outside in the sun for too long. It’s inevitable that over time the sun will leave its trace. Make the effort to bring our outdoor cushions, pillows and tablecloths inside once in a while and rearrange a bit to avoid a change in colour. The Martindale rub count of this fabric is 25.000. What is Martindale?Martindale is a term used to tell you something about the durability and robustness of a fabric. The higher the Martindale rub count is, the more durable the fabric is. If you need the fabric to upholster furniture, we recommend that you pick a material with a minimum Martindale rub count of 20.000. This fabric has been awarded with a STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification. What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®?OEKO-TEX® is the world-leading label for textiles tested for harmful substances. Once the fabric has achieved a STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, it is your guarantee it has been tested and approved not to contain any harmful chemicals. Meaning it is neither harmful to you and your health and less harmful to the environment.

Woven lyocell black

Woven lyocell black

Lyocell offers all sorts of benefitsLyocell is a fantastic fabric and the Lyocell manufacturing process is eco-friendly. A Lyocell fabric has irresistible properties – and you can sew a multitude of creative projects with it.From wood to textile fibresLyocell is made from wood – primarily eucalyptus. The wood is broken down in a chemical process and spun into textile fibres.Lyocell is produced under environmentally friendly conditionsThe method used to convert the plant fibres into textile fibre is similar to that used to produce viscose. However, while not necessarily the case for viscose, Lyocell is always produced in a closed system. No wastewater from Lyocell production is pumped back into the natural environment. More or less all process chemicals and water are recycled.Enjoy Lyocell's moisture-wicking propertiesLyocell has an amazing capacity to absorb sweat and release it again quickly. Lyocell actually releases moisture 50 % faster than cotton. This means that Lyocell regulates body temperature and helps you maintain body water balance.Lyocell is anti-bacterialGood moisture management also means that Lyocell has an anti-bacterial effect. Moisture absorbed directly from your skin is transported to the inside of the fibre – it does not remain on the surface where bacteria have good opportunities to spread.Less odour and less energy consumptionWhen you make Lyocell garments, they are therefore more resistant to odour than cotton. Less odour means fewer washes, lower domestic water consumption and less energy to power the washing machine and tumble drier. Great news for you! You do not have to wash clothes as often – and that is great news for the environment! What are you going to make in Lyocell?Lyocell is ideal for all sorts of creative projects. Use it to make dresses, skirts, trousers, shorts, tunics and tops.Avoid tight-fitting designsWhen you sew in a Lyocell fabric, we recommend that you avoid using sewing patterns for very tight-fitting styles. Lyocell is a woven fabric with relatively little stretch.
