The stunning tuck box is crafted from a heavy-duty deep blue matte paper that's adorned on all sides with intricately applied silver foil. The cards themselves have the look of a blueprint, featuring a beautiful blue and white back design with fine line work. The faces are Expert Standard with a custom DaVinci-inspired Ace of Spades and identical drawing compass Jokers. The handling is superb thanks to the Damask finish. In collaboration with the producer Will Roya at PCD, these decks were painstakingly digitally hand-restored by AZURED OX. General Admission was the Kings Wild Shorts Subscription deck for May, 2020. The design inspiration for this unique deck came from Jackson's draw towards vintage ticket stubs from the early 20th century. Printed by EPCC, the semi-gloss tuck case resembles the layout of a ticket stub, including the gate number, section, row, and seat, which hide an Easter Egg for those who follow Jackson's design themes closely. The complex back design plays along the same lines, adding design elements resembling some of Kings Wild's currency decks, along with the iconic logo. As you open the deck, you'll find the familiar Kings Wild motto, "Work with your hands. Mind your own business." Inside, the cards take this deck to the next level of vintage nostalgia, with heavy amounts of texture, a wide range of vibrant and visually interesting patterns, and bold design elements. The legend is alive with the Robin Hood Playing Cards! The unique artistic style achieved with the Robin Hood playing cards took heavy inspiration from the Bayeux Tapestry - a French tapestry from around 1066. If you look closely at each card, you'll find that designer Jackson Robinson drew every stitch by hand to create this incredible display of artistic achievement. The tuck case was intricately designed to resemble an ancient book, including life-like features to resemble canvas and leather design-work, a book spine, frayed paper edges and finished with realistic wear-n-tear details. The diptych jokers from the Robin Hood deck show the legendary first encounter of Robin Hood and Little John. ⁣ “The stranger gave Robin a knock on the crown,⁣ Which caused the blood to appear,⁣ Then Robin enraged, more fiercely engaged,⁣ And followed with blows more severe. ⁣ So thick and fast did he lay it on him,⁣ With a passionate fury and ire,⁣ At every stroke he made him to smoke,⁣ As if he had been all on fire.”

This is a very limited run and we will produce only 999 copies. THE DESIGN Mortalis Machina playing cards is a themed design where mortals meet machines. The design contains many elements of steampunk which was a heavy influence to this deck of cards right from the very beginning. Throughout the deck of cards, you will find intricate Victorian details mixed with Baroque and Gothic elemental designs. There is also a good mix of fantasy and witchcraft added to the playing cards and box design. What was also important was that the design of this deck of cards must fit in with the one of a kind mechanical box which we have developed ourselves for this project so, cogs and gears are also added to the design concept. Each of the court cards and the 2 Jokers were designed very thoughtfully and in great detail which did take us many rounds to get right where we wanted the deck.
