Handbook for Critical Cleaning - - Bog - Taylor & Francis Ltd - Plusbog.dk

Handbook for Critical Cleaning - - Bog - Taylor & Francis Ltd - Plusbog.dk

Cleaning Agents and Systems is the first volume in the Handbook for Critical Cleaning, Second Edition. Should you clean your product during manufacturing? If so, when and how? Cleaning is essential for proper performance, optimal quality, and increased sales. Inadequate cleaning of product elements can lead to catastrophic failure of the entire system and serious hazards to individuals and the general public. Gain a competitive edge with proven cleaning and contamination-control strategies A decade after the bestselling original, the Handbook for Critical Cleaning, Second Edition helps manufacturers meet today’s challenges, providing practical information and perspective about cleaning chemistries, equipment, processes, and applications. With 90% new or revised chapters plus supplementary online material, the handbook has grown into two comprehensive volumes: Cleaning Agents and Systems and Applications, Processes, and Controls. Helping manufacturers become more efficient and productive, these books: - - Show how to increase profitability and meet both existing and expected product demand - - - Clarify the sea of print and Internet information about cleaning chemistries and techniques - - - Address challenges of performance, miniaturization, and cost, as well as regulatory and supply chain pressures - - - Offer clearly written guidance from the viewpoints of more than 70 leading industry contributors in technical, management, academic, and regulatory disciplines - Overview chapters by the editors, industry icons Barbara and Ed Kanegsberg, meld the different viewpoints and compile and critique the options. The result is a complete, cohesive, balanced perspective that helps manufacturers better select, implement, and maintain a quality, value-added cleaning process. The first volume, Handbook for Critical Cleaning: Cleaning Agents and Systems , gives manufacturers a practical understanding of the variety and functions of cleaning chemistries and cleaning, rinsing, and drying equipment. Topics include aqueous, solvent, and "non-chemical" approaches. Readers can compare process costs, performance, and regulatory issues, and then choose their best option.

Thermoplastic Foam Processing - - Bog - Taylor & Francis Ltd - Plusbog.dk

As researchers seek replacements for banned, ozone-depleting foaming agents, the authors of Thermoplastic Foam Processing: Principles and Development strive to develop a better understanding of foaming processes and find solutions for day-to-day practice. This book presents the latest research in foam extrusion and physical foaming agents with a strong focus on the interaction of material components in the foaming process. As part of the Polymeric Foams series and a companion to the volume, Foam Extrusion: Principles and Practice (2000), the book includes new topics such as polymer blends and mechanical properties, and further develops several vital topics appearing in Foam Extrusion, such as extensional rheology and solubility/diffusivity. The text also addresses factors that affect the critical interaction between polymer and gas in the foaming process, such as polymer plasticization, gas dissolution, phase separation, foaming, and stabilization. Written by experts, the book provides clear information on the mechanisms and the practical conditions experienced during nucleation and cell growth. In the midst of new research for alternative, environmentally friendly foaming agents, Thermoplastic Foam Processing: Principles and Development gives the reader a clear understanding of the current trends in R & D and an up-to-date review of the state of the art in thermoplastic foam processing. This book provides useful tools for the development and validation of innovative physical foaming agent and polymer combinations for current and future research.

Data Cleaning for Effective Data Science - David Mertz - Bog - Pearson Education (US) - Plusbog.dk

Data Cleaning for Effective Data Science - David Mertz - Bog - Pearson Education (US) - Plusbog.dk

Most machine learning guides cover data cleaning briefly or skip it entirely. However, many data scientists and analysts spend most of their time on data cleaning and data quality tasks, and their effectiveness can make or break project success. In Data Cleaning for Effective Data Science , leading data science trainer David Mertz provides the most systematic guide to cleaning data for any project, using any library or toolset. Mertz introduces many powerful techniques for analyzing, manipulating, and pre-processing data sources. He offers best practices for working with leading data formats such as JSON, CSV, SQL RDBMSes, HDF5, NoSQL databases, files in image formats, binary serialized data structures, and more. Mertz also focuses on crucial issues within the data itself, including missing data, outliers, biasing trends, class imbalance, value imputation, over/under-sampling, normalization and/or randomization, and anomalies. This guide is organized around downloadable datasets, each illuminating specific issues with data integrity or quality. Each chapter explores the best ways to diagnose, analyze, and remediate these issues, offering hands-on practice using tools such as Python, Pandas, sklearn.preprocessing, scipy.stats, R, and Tidyverse. While the examples are demonstrated with widely-used tools, Mertz''s concepts are applicable with any toolset. Each chapter also links to additional datasets with more problems, exercises, and solutions.

Plasma Technology in the Preservation and Cleaning of Cultural Heritage Objects - Zdenka Kozakova - Bog - Taylor & Francis Ltd - Plusbog.dk

Plasma Technology in the Preservation and Cleaning of Cultural Heritage Objects - Zdenka Kozakova - Bog - Taylor & Francis Ltd - Plusbog.dk

Scientists have long been looking for alternative methods for the cleaning of historical and cultural museum objects as conventional methods often fail to completely remove surface films, leaving contamination and surface residues behind. Low-temperature plasmas have recently been found to provide a new, efficient and durable approach that maintains the safety of both the materials and personnel. This book is the first to introduce the emerging use of low-temperature plasmas in the cleaning and decontamination of cultural heritage items. It provides a comprehensive exploration of the new possibilities of cleaning objects with plasma, before providing a practice guide to the individual cleaning methods and an overview of the technologies and conditions used in the different cleaning regimes. It is an ideal reference for researchers in plasma physics, in addition to professionals working in the field of historical and cultural conservation. Features: Provides a thorough overview of the cleaning potential of emerging plasma technologies in accessible language for professional restorers and conservators without a scientific background Includes the latest case studies from the field, which have not been published elsewhere yet Authored by a team of experts in the field About the Authors: Dr. Radko Tiňo is an Associate Professor at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Slovakia. Cleaning Up Greenwash - Angus Nurse - Bog - Lexington Books - Plusbog.dk

Cleaning Up Greenwash - Angus Nurse - Bog - Lexington Books - Plusbog.dk

Through a green criminological perspective, Angus Nurse examines the contemporary reality of corporate environmental crime and illegal activities that have become normalized within many major corporations. Arguably this is an inevitable consequence of a corporate culture that prioritizes profits and the smooth operation of market activities over environmental concerns coupled with the increased political power of major corporations that can act almost with impunity and where problems do occur, can literally buy itself out of trouble. These same corporations are broadly perceived as being responsible actors. However, Nurse argues that corporate environmental offending is often deliberate and that corporations understand that they will often be allowed to continue with polluting and non-compliant behavior because the likely enforcement responses are fines and settlements rather than criminal prosecution. Using several case studies, Nurse explores biopiracy and the rights of indigenous peoples, the behavior of oil companies in African states, the regulation of corporate social responsibility and corporate environmental responsibility, an analysis of contemporary environmental legislation and the prosecution of environmental harm, and state-corporate crime and air pollution. Dealing with these problems requires a wider notion of crime and wrongdoing that directly engages with the types of environmental offending that represent a threat to human populations and non-human nature irrespective of whether these are defined as crime by justice systems.
