Mat the surface with a Scotch-Brite and clean with MAVI STEP Total Cleaner before dyeing genuine or synthetic leather. Drop a drop of water on the item and watch how quickly it absorbs. If it soaks in instantly, the item is ready for dyeing, and you can proceed to the next step. If the water remains on the surface or absorbs very slowly, repeat the cleaning process. Shake the dye vigorously, then dab a few drops onto the applicator (sponge) and spread it in a circular motion, using light pressure, on the surface of the item. Periodically add the dye to the sponge and apply a minimum of a thin layer. Once the first coat has dried (approx. 2 hours), apply a second coat (to even out the colour). If necessary, apply a third coat and wait until the item is completely dry (approx. 24 hours). To fix the dye and create a semi-glossy finish, treat the dyed and fully dried item with MAVI STEP Universal Dye Fixative. Note No. 1. Do not apply more than three coats of dye. Note No. 2.
