When a stock rear skid plate fails, it can rip the rear shock tower mounting screws out of the chassis, causing a catastrophic failure usually resulting in the rear end sailing in a different direction than the rest of the truck. With RPM skid plates mounted, that problem will be a thing of the past!RPM rear Slash skid plates are completely redesigned, making them stronger and much more durable. Our unique design use three chassis mounting points instead of two, triangulating the chassis mounts on the truck, in turn spreading impact energy over a larger area. This is done using a hole already located in the stock chassis, meaning no drilling is required. We also eliminated the cross-tube styling of the stock skid plates in favor of a solid flat skid design with a large radius at the transition points to allow the truck to slide over obstacles that would have normally caught on the stock rear skid plate. That means no more direct impacts to the lower rear end of the truck, which is the primary source of a broken chassis.As a final design touch, we added four thick skid rails on both the front and rear skid plates which reduce sliding friction while improving the overall durability of the skid plates and the truck. At the tail end of the rear skid plate, a skid rail runs from side to side to protect the lower transmission screw and rear bumper mount while providing a smooth transitional surface.RPM skid plates for the Traxxas Slash are sold in three color options ? black, blue and our all new gray color which is designed to blend in with the stock Traxxas gray colors of the chassis, bulkheads & transmission.Tech Notes: Stock rear bumper mounts (Traxxas 3677) will not work with RPM skid plates. To retain the use of a rear bumper or wheelie bar, RPM 80902 or 80905 must be used. RPM skid plates are designed for and only guaranteed to fit a stock Traxxas Slash chassis and chassis components.

RPM Front Bumper & Skid Plate for HPI Baja 5B Quick Notes: Fits the HPI Baja 5B Replaces stock HPI 85420 A lack of front-end protection of any R/C vehicle eventually results in hours of down time, replacing expensive chassis components from front-end impacts. The stock set-up on the HPI Baja 5B has virtually no protection up front since the bumper is tucked so far into the front of the vehicle. RPM steps in with some serious protection in the form of an all-new bumper specifically designed for this beast!Our front bumper is a two-piece design, utilizing a skid plate and separate bumper that can be removed for racing. Each piece has specific design elements incorporated to dramatically improve the strength and durability of the HPI Baja 5B. The RPM skid plate is attached to the chassis with four 5mm screws, not two like the stock version, effectively cutting transferred impact energy in half, divided equally among those four screws. Our skid plate also has huge skid rails all along its lower section and is a major part of the impact-absorption system. It extends up, out and away from the chassis, creating a large curved section that acts as a buffer zone that rapidly dissipates impact energy by compressing during a hit, slowing and absorbing that energy without transferring it into the more fragile components of the vehicle. Once the impact force dissipates, the memory characteristics of our trademark blend of RPM nylons will return the bumper to its original position.The bumper itself is over 6-1/2? wide and is designed to prevent smaller objects such as fence and mailbox poles from slipping in-between the skid plate and the tires. Its added width tops off a perfectly balanced design that is strong, extremely durable and built to last!

In that short amount of time, the durability of our Baja A-arms displayed their unbeatable nature! That kind of performance can now be matched out back with our rear A-arms for the 5SC, 5B & 5T.RPM Baja rear A-arms start with the basic geometry of the stock arms so they are direct replacement parts ? no additional parts will be needed. However, we?ve made a number of modifications to the arms to improve performance and durability. Key durability features are as follows:The shock mount on the lower A-arm has been moved forward by a full 1/4? to help reduce the severe rubbing issue of the wheel at the shock mount that would cause stock arms to break. By moving the shock mount forward, we were able to increase the material around the shock mount to protect the lower shock rod end, preventing it from being the lowest hanging component of the A-arm assembly. We?ve incorporated a third inner hinge pin boss at the inside hinge pin of the lower A-arm and tied in structural ribs that help disperse impact energy and rotational forces from engine torque over all three hinge pin bosses.Similar corner webs to those found on our front A-arms have been designed into the rear upper and lower A-arms to help improve strength and durability.In the performance department, we moved the rear hub carrier forward by 1/8? over stock geometry. While this does little to change the overall wheelbase of the vehicle, what it does do is alter the angle of the drive shaft as it exits the differential. This reduces the tendency of the Baja to squat under acceleration. By sliding the rear hub carrier forward, we use the torque of the motor to effectively ?push? the rear wheels into the ground, using both the weight of the Baja and the torque of the motor to improve acceleration performance. Up top, RPM rear upper A-arms have had a shape change for added lateral stability ? the stock ?Y? shape tends to allow the upper pivot ball to move forward and backward while the RPM ?D? shape holds the upper pivot ball in place more solidly, providing a more consistent feel to the performance of the Baja.We mold our Baja 5SC, 5B & 5T rear A-arms in both a stealthy black and a dyeable white version for those that like to personalize their vehicles. A little Rit clothing dye, some hot water and our dyeable A-arms can be dyed to any color you prefer!Tech Notes: RPM Rear A-arms for the Baja 5SC, 5B & 5T are sold in sets consisting of one upper and one lower A-arm.
