The title was developed by Daniel Mullins - an independent developer with the original Pony Island and The Hex in his portfolio.The action of Inscryption takes place entirely in Lesze's cottage. In order to get out of it, the hero we play as has to fight a fierce card duel with an unusual host and emerge victorious from it. Our head is in this, so that the victory would not be paid for with his blood ...In Inscryption, the action is shown from the first person perspective (FPP). During the game, we spend most of the time at the table on which Leszy has spread the map of the forest. The events that we encounter when moving our figurine around it are presented in the form of card battles. During them, we play cards decorated with lively (and talkative) images of various forest animals, such as squirrels, birds, wolves and bears. Each of them has an individual set of strengths and weaknesses; while some are great as "cannon fodder" or food for more powerful individuals (so the latter can become stronger), others should be kept for special occasions.We are informed about who is closer to the loser by the scales, whose scales are tilted towards the protagonist or Lesze. When we lose our leg and the scales of victory turn to the side of our grim host, we can take the last chance, which is to sacrifice part of our body in exchange for the opportunity to continue the game. Each such decision should be carefully considered because it has specific consequences. For example, without an eye, we cannot see part of the table, but without hands ... well, we cannot play more cards.This is not the end, because Inscryption also allows us to get up from the table and wander around Leszno's hut. In 2089, as large as the mysterious disk appeared in the orbit of Jupiter. The main character of the game is a scientist who decides to study this structure. The protagonist soon learns the hard way that the object is a real interstellar slaughterhouse.In the Disc Room we observe the action from a bird's eye view. The game is divided into small-sized levels, each of which is a separate logic and dexterity challenge. If we want the exit from each of them to be open to us, we have to solve simple puzzles (for example, changing the colors of the fields covering the floor) while avoiding the gears moving on the boards. As you can easily guess, these discs are able to instantly transform the hero into a bloody pulp. As if that were not enough, from time to time we also come across other obstacles, such as large mouths capable of swallowing the hero. As we progress, however, we unlock skills that make life a bit easier for our ward (and thus - for us). Among them we can find, inter alia, the ability to clone or even a kind of "afterburner" increasing the speed of movement of the scientist.

The production has a very vivid graphic design and was created by a small studio Acid Nerve. Enemies in the Raven's path take various macabre shapes, depicting the horrors of the land of the dead. We will face not only doll-like ghosts or monsters that look like grown frogs, but also powerful mechanical locks firing lasers or "knights" formed from interconnected fragments of scrap metal. They were divided into ordinary, serial enemies filling locations, and more difficult-to-defeat bosses with unique attacks and behaviors. Each of them is associated with a little story, expanding the lore of the game world and allowing you to look at the main story from a different perspective. A simple system of improving our character has also been implemented in Death's Door. Thanks to the experience points gained, we improve the Raven's statistics or improve the operation of specific skills.
