Dead Cells is a two-dimensional action platform game enriched with elements characteristic of roguelikes and metroidvania productions. The title was developed by the independent French studio Motion Twin.  In Dead Cells we find ourselves in a dark fantasy world. The action is shown from the side, and the areas visited in the game are multi-level. The core of the game is the exploration of gloomy locations, including dungeons, a prison, a clock tower and sewers.  Most of the locations in Dead Cells are procedurally generated - with each new playthrough of the game, the arrangement of corridors, rooms or caches with treasures is completely different. The title also offers some freedom in choosing the order in which to visit the locations.
