Train Simulator: Thompson Class B1 Loco Add-On Steam CD Key

The London and North Eastern Railway’s mixed traffic Thompson B1 Class locomotive is now available for Train Simulator, and includes scenarios specially created for the popular Woodhead Line.Designed by Edward Thompson, chief mechanical engineer for the LNER, the prototype for the new 4-6-0 ‘B Class’ (later classified as ‘B1 Class’) was the first two-cylinder main line locomotive built by the LNER. The B1 was designed for medium mixed traffic use but also had the requirement of being cheap to produce due to wartime and post-war economies. The B1s operated across the LNER network and more than 400 were built between 1942 and 1952. However, with the change in British Railways policies the Class was withdrawn in the 1960s, long before the end of its expected economic working life. The Thompson B1 for Train Simulator is available in British Railway black livery with lion-and-wheel emblem. In game features include completely detailed and operational locomotive cab interior, spectacular Pennines scenery and the famous Woodhead Tunnel system. The Woodhead Line Expansion Pack (available separately) is required to play the scenarios included with this add-on.ScenariosFive scenarios for the Woodhead Line (also available on Steam). An Introduction to the Thompson B1Christmas Relief SpecialHello CampersMarylebone ExpressSteam Freight RevivalKey FeaturesThompson B1 steam locomotive in British Railways black livery with lion-and-wheel emblemRealistic cab interior with working gauges and firebox doorsBR (Crimson) Mk1 coachesQuick Drive compatible

1957, an order was placed for a batch of diesel-electric locomotives which were destined for the Southern Region of British Railways. Known at the time as the BRCW Type 3s, they were built as Bo-Bo, mixed-traffic locomotives, fitted with 1550 horsepower Sulzer engines that could propel them to a top speed of 85 mph. They housed Crompton Parkinson electrical equipment, forever giving them the nickname “Cromptons”. A true classic, the BR Class 33 comes to Train Sim World® 2 for heritage diesel operation. The first BRCW Type 3s were rolled off the production line in 1959, entering service that December; the initial batch of 65 locomotives was delivered until 1961, and then a second batch was completed by 1962, totalling 98 locomotives across 3 main variants.Once in regular service, the Type 3s quickly became a staple throughout the Southern Region, and particularly in the South Eastern Division to begin with, working principle passenger and freight services to Dover; steel trains between Sheerness and Willesden, cement runs, engineering trains, and the list goes on. They were also used in the South West, where a subset of locomotives were fitted with SR multiple unit equipment so they could work push-pull trains to Salisbury and Weymouth that originated from London Waterloo.Their widespread success in transforming key services throughout the Southern Region gave the Class 33s a keen following, and it is probably the reason that 29 have survived into preservation, including some which are mainline certified, not a bad effort for a fleet pushing for 60 years old. Two of the preserved locomotives; D6566 (33048) and D6575 (33057) “Seagull” have found a home on the West Somerset Railway, both operational and sporting the classic BR Green livery. The Train Sim World® 2 BR Class 33 now joins the BR Class 47 and BR Class 09 to further bring to life the heritage festivities of the West Somerset Railway route’s diesel gala. Please note: Train Sim World® 2: West Somerset Railway Route Add-On is required, as a separate purchase, in order to utilise the content featured in this add-on. The iconic Class 180 ‘Adelante’ speeds into Train Simulator in distinctive Grand Central Trains livery. The five-car sets were built by Alstom at their Washwood Heath plant between 2000 and 2001 for First Great Western, who wanted to increase the frequency of their express services between London Paddington and South Wales, and became part of the Coradia 1000 family, alongside the popular Class 175.Nicknamed ‘Adelante’ by First Group, the Class has had a chequered career, being late into service in the early 2000s and returns to their leasing company, Angel Trains, ahead of schedule in 2009. Subsequently, they were assigned to other train operators and in 2012, five sets were refurbished by First Great Western. In total, only 14 sets were built and despite their reliability problems, are still in operation today for Grand Central Trains, First Great Western and First Hull Trains. They are capable of reaching 125 mph (201 km/h) thanks to a Cummins QSK19 diesel engine, identical to the engine fitted to the Class 220 ‘Voyager’. The ‘Adelante’ is also unique in being the only diesel-powered high speed train in the World that has a diesel-hydraulic transmission. The Class 180 ‘Adelante’ for Train Simulator is available in Grand Central Trains’ black livery and includes features usually seen on high speed trains, including signal bell, open/close coupling hatch, DRA, instrument lights, glare panel, headlight control, vehicle overspeed, brake gauge, DSD reset pedal and working TMS system. The locomotive is also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the Grand Central Class 180 ‘Adelante’ on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam. Train Sim World 2: BR Class 31 Loco Add-On Steam CD Key

The 1950s were in full swing, and British Railways were kicking off the start of the radical modernisation plan, which would see steam locomotives retired in favour of brand new, diesel-powered traction.Brush Traction developed the Type 2, which was designed to fill the 1000-1499 horsepower role, making them suitable on lower-priority passenger and freight trains. The first Type 2s entered service in the Eastern Region, however they soon found use across the country as the fleet grew in size, and with the introduction of TOPS, they were classified as the BR Class 31.Multiple subclasses of the Class 31s were produced, particularly as technology progressed over time, however the standard locomotive was the 31/1, which featured steam heating boilers, a headcode display atop each cab, and multiple-working compatibility with many other diesel locomotives. The 31/1s were used on secondary passenger duties and lighter freight traffic – they would often be used in pairs for freight as their low power rating would make them prone to slipping. The fleet of 263 locomotives were based across 12 depots throughout England, including in Thornaby Depot, where the 31s would take charge of trains across the Tees Valley Line. After having a career spanning decades, and a successful life in preservation, it’s time to turn back the clock and experience the iconic BR Class 31 in its heyday in Train Sim World® 2!Please note: Train Sim World® 2: Tees Valley Line is required, as a separate purchase, in order to utilise the content featured in this add-on. Train Sim World: BR Class 20 'Chopper' Loco Add-On Steam CD Key

Developed in the 1950s, the English Electric Type 1 was the first major step on British Railways’ path to dieselisation. After many trials and failures, the Type 1 showed promise as a 1000hp (746 kW) locomotive, and between 1957 and 1968 a total of 228 would be produced. The Type 1s took over from steam locomotives of equivalent power, primarily working light, mixed-freight traffic throughout the midlands and in Scotland. Unlike newer locomotives, the Type 1s featured a rather unique single cab design. The cab, situated at the rear of the locomotive, has controls facing in either direction and gives the locos a tank engine-like appearance, with the diesel engine and on-board equipment sat much like how a firebox and boiler would, in front of the cab. Another steam-like feature was the headcode discs adorning each end of the loco. The first 127 Type 1s were built as such.Visibility when travelling nose first was quickly realised as a concern, so it became common to see pairs of Type 1s coupled at the nose, allowing for greater view of the track ahead and with the added benefit of doubling the horsepower, meaning they could handle heaver trains. With the introduction of the TOPS classification system, the EE Type 1s were rebranded as BR Class 20s, although they are known by many as “Choppers” owing to their engines sounding like helicopters when under load.Despite being some of the oldest diesels around the Class 20s have remained in operational use to this day, and a rather fitting 20 examples have survived into preservation, making them a frequent sight on heritage railways.A veteran in every right, the Class 20 has earned its place among enthusiasts’ hearts; and now Type 1 traction comes to life in Train Sim World 2, ready for hard-working duty on the Tees Valley Line! Please note: Train Sim World® 3 is required, as a separate purchase, in order to utilise this content. Train Simulator: BR Blue Diesel Electric Pack Loco Add-On Steam CD Key

Synonymous with the most recognisable period in British Rail’s history, the ‘Rail Blue’ livery carried across BR’s roster of diesel and electric locomotives and multiple units stretched across three decades, as represented in this collection of BR Blue diesel and electric locomotives for Train Simulator. The BR Class 09 is a class of 0-6-0 diesel locomotives originally designed for shunting and short distance freight trips along branch lines. In total, 26 of the Class were built, similar in appearance and specification to the Class 08 but with different gearing to deliver a higher top speed. The BR Class 33, also known as ‘Type 3’ or ‘Crompton’, was built specifically for the Southern Region between 1960 and 1962. A total of 98 locomotives were built with the ability to supply new electric train heating, rather than the ubiquitous steam heating which was prevalent in BR’s passenger rolling stock. Although generally based in the southern part of the England, the locomotives were found as far north as York and South Lanarkshire during their operating lives. The electro-diesel BR Class 73 was one of the few locomotives built by British Rail with dual power control. With an increase in electrification in the Southern Region, the Class 73 was designed to operate on the 650/750V DC third rail system, as well as on non-electrified track with its diesel engine. Between 1984 and 2005, Class 73 locomotives were used as traction on Gatwick Express services, in partnership with Class 489 Gatwick Luggage Vans as ‘push-pull services. With electrification of the Southern Region, BR introduced a number of Electric Multiple Units (EMUs), including the BR Class 416 ‘2EPB’. Built over a three year period from 1953, the 2EPB was intended for inner suburban passenger services around London, and were in service as late as the 1980s on North London line services between Richmond and North Woolwich. The BR Class 421 (originally ‘4CIG’ before TOPS introduction) EMUs were built at BR York Works between 1964 and 1972. The units were originally allocated to Brighton Main Line services, with a second batch allocated to services around Portsmouth, although latterly spent time across the Southern Region. The 4CIG is probably most famous for its ‘slam door’ nickname, so called as newer units with sliding or plug doors were introduced. The Rail Blue (or Monastral Blue) livery became standard across BR’s roster from 1965 onwards. The colour was, in fact, a dark, greyish blue designed to hide dirt well, although this was often portrayed inaccurately in photographs. The colour was applied to all diesel and electric locomotives, with the exception of the ends, which were painted yellow to improve visibility to lineside workers; the livery was also applied to coaching stock and multiple units with some variations. The first break in Rail Blue uniformity came in 1976 with the introduction of a blue/grey livery or what was known as BR Corporate Blue at the time, on InterCity 125 (HST) sets – the blue colour being carried around to the front of HST sets. This blue also incorporated a marginally darker and richer blue pigment to further hide the oily residues left by the predominant diesel emissions of locomotives at the time. However, most traction maintenance depots around the country were forced to source their paints from local suppliers. This situation resulted in different shades of both the blue and the yellow being applied to locomotives – some locomotives were almost turquoise in colour while others were almost royal blue.By the mid-1980s, both Rail and Corporate Blue liveries had been replaced on all BR locomotives and coaching stock in favour of the newer InterCity “Red Stripe” and InterCity Executive liveries. Also included with the pack are OBA Wagons and General Utility Vehicles (GUVs) to form freight and parcel/newspaper services hauled by the locomotives included in the BR Blue Pack. The locomotives included in the BR Blue Pack are also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive them on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam.
