FTL: Faster Than Light Steam CD Key
FTL: Faster Than Light is a space strategy game enriched with adventure, tactical and RPG elements. This is the debut project of a small independent studio FTL Team located in China and was produced practically by the entire team consisting of just two people: Justin Ma and Matthew Davis. The music was composed by Ben Prunty.
The action takes place in the distant future, in a galaxy torn apart by a gigantic military conflict. We play the role of a mercenary who is the captain of his own spaceship. One day we are hired as a courier and our task will be to deliver valuable information to one of the Federation's bases. Unfortunately, the rebel command learns about the contract and sends the entire navy on our trail.
As a captain, our job is to chart a star journey and lead the crew. Travel between planetary stacks takes place in turn-based mode, while combat is played in real time with an active pause. The ship under our command has many subsystems, the failure of which always has specific consequences for the functioning of the vessel. We will lose many times, for example, weapons or shields and we will frantically try to repair before we are destroyed by enemies.
The game world is randomly generated each time, so we can never be sure whether, after completing the subspace jump, we will land in a friendly planetary system, or we will come across, for example, an armada of pirates. At the same time, with each jump, the mission becomes more dangerous and the enemies grow stronger. In order to survive, it is necessary to acquire new instruments, hire and train the crew, and improve the ship itself. The authors have prepared a lot of special events to make star journeys more attractive. For example, we may be forced to help a space station whose inhabitants have fallen victim to a mysterious virus, encounter slave traders or hit the very center of an unexplored asteroid field.
The key element of the game is crew management. Each of its members has their own name and characteristics. Over time, he will gain experience and increase his skills. At the same time, however, each death is final, without the possibility of resurrecting the fallen, and since the FTL world is not one of the safest places, one has to accept the prospect of losing faithful subordinates.
