The game takes us back to the times of World War II, but presents events that did not take place in reality. The action is set in Gaul - a small piece of the continent under attack by the forces of the East European Empire. Players take on the role of one of the two members (Alice Melchiott or Welkin Gunther) of the seventh platoon of the Atlantic Federation army and take part in a series of story-driven battles that will determine the future of Gaul. By clicking on an allied unit, we move to the battlefield and take control of the hero. The game takes place in a turn-based system called BLiTZ (Battle of Live Tactical Zones), in which we have a limited number of action points to use, allocated to the movement of characters, crouching, hiding behind covers and, of course, shooting at enemies. After using all the points, artificial intelligence takes control of your soldiers, and we patiently wait for the next turn. Each of the heroes has different weapons that can be used in different situations. Alicja uses a mid-range shotgun and Welkin specializes in tank servicing. In addition, during the mission, we receive support from other soldiers and combat machines, but their number is limited to ten units, selected from the pool of available allies before starting the task. Choosing the right crew has a significant impact on the combat, as some soldiers can cover several allied objects with a special shield, while others use sniper rifles. So, as a standard, we play the role of a manager who runs a team in a country of our choice. From now on, everything is in our hands - we get many options and settings that will determine our success in the sports world.  Of course, the product contains a lot of improvements and changes, many of which were inspired, as is already the tradition of this series, by the opinions of the players themselves associated on many internet forums regarding this series. The basic novelty here is the ability to choose the gender of our character, which will surely appeal to football lovers, which have been underestimated so far - in the end, the virtual world will also be populated by female managers. The date 2009 in the name also brings us a new form of an assistant manager who is willing to provide tips to both beginners and experienced players. The comments relate primarily to the motivation of our team and the effectiveness of the tactics implemented. Another element are extensive training options, enabling individual practice of the favorite movements of a given player - we can now order our pupils to additionally master certain technical elements, concerning not necessarily pure plays.  A very important novelty in this edition is emphasizing and increasing the role of the media. The creators implemented new ways of interaction between sea and land units. During a land battle, armies can use the support of ships (artillery fire), and shore-based guns can fire at surface ships surrounding the port. However, from the position of the strategic map, our fleet will be able to fire at the enemy coast. However, the real novelty of Samurai Twilight is the arrival of modern firearms on the battlefields of Japan, including Gatling guns and Armstrong and Parrot cannons - all with the possibility of firing enemy lines from the first person perspective. We will be able to use the on-board artillery of our fleet in a similar way. In the Twilight of the Samurai, unfortunately trading and trading fleets were abandoned.
