Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor is the second (after Opposing Fronts), standalone addition to one of the best RTS games set in the realities of the Second World War, known in Poland as the Band of Brothers. As before, the authors of the series, Relic Entertainment studio, used their own engine - Essence Engine to prepare the expansion. It is worth adding that these developers are well known to fans of real-time strategy, it is thanks to them that such series as Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War and Homeworld saw the light of day.  One of the attractions of Tales of Valor are three new single-player campaigns, among which the one reserved for the Wehrmacht - Tiger Ace has a special place. Contrary to the way of playing the game known from the base, here the game resembles a kind of hybrid of roleplay and light strategy than a typical RTS. We command a single Tiger Ace with a crew of four and a small group of infantry to protect it. Each tanker has a different function and after defeating the appropriate number of enemies can advance to the next level of experience, up to the fourth. Of course, the more experienced team we have, the better it uses the possibilities of our Tiger. One of the producers of the game is Shinji Mikami, the father of such brands as Resident Evil and Dino Crisis. The title debuted in autumn 2010 on seventh generation consoles. Story The story of Vanquish is set in the distant future, where the Earth's natural resources are already depleted, and the two largest world powers are fiercely competing for access to what's left of them. In this peculiar race for energy, the United States is building a modern space station - a sky city that can harvest the energy of the Sun. However, Russian forces manage to take control of the station and turn the accumulated solar energy into a powerful weapon that completely destroys San Francisco. This is how the Russians want to force their enemies into total and unconditional surrender. In response to the attack, the United States sends its troops on a mission to recapture the station before the enemy succeeds in destroying another target - the city of New York. One of the members of the United States Marine Corps special unit is an agent named Sam working for the US government, played by the player. In addition to the above-mentioned suit, our protagonist is able to carry three weapons at the same time, and additionally keep grenades and explosives in his pocket. During the skirmishes, the cover system also turns out to be useful, thanks to which the walls of buildings, vehicles or other larger objects can serve as a natural cover (although some of them, due to prolonged fire, can also be completely destroyed). In addition, the game uses the well-known, among others from the Call of Duty series, a self-healing health system. When Sam takes heavier damage, a time slow mode triggers, giving him a chance to kill enemies or hide behind cover and regain energy. We won’t have access to a pool of highly trained medical janitors. Instead, we’ll be able to hire other, random, totally inexperienced people. We’ll need to get training, or maybe just hire loads of them, as Pebberley receives some of the most erratic and unique weather in the County.OvergrowthIt’s hard to believe, but a community used to live at the heart of this jungle before it got angry with them and, you know, ‘over grew’. People who had lived here for millennia were forced to leave their home and live down the road a bit.The plants here are pretty judgemental, for vegetation, but might respond positively if you care for the people and restore balance to the area. When we arrived, we found incomprehensible word and number sequences written into the bark of some of the trees. Try as we may, we just couldn’t make any sense of “Cure 10 Patients”, you should probably take a look. Good luck and, remember, the trees are watching!Topless MountainThe incredible natural plateaus of this area are perfect building foundations. They’re just so flat. Much more suitable than those pointy Pointy mountains they have in the north. The ancient people certainly thought so, that’s why they did lots of building here back in the ancient times, with their ancient tools.The transport out here is a nightmare, as you can imagine, and tourists that make it this far tend to have gotten sick on their travels, so big groups (we’re calling them ‘waves’) of sickly sightseers will be turning up all at once. Whilst you’re treating them, Wiggy’s crew will be excavating the ruins. It might be worth keeping an eye on their progress: the more they find, and restore, the more boneheads we’ll get turning up at the hospital.The people of Pebberley Island have been suffering from some very unusual illnesses indeed.
