Dungeon of the ENDLESS - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

Dungeon of the ENDLESS - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

A few hundred condemned criminals were being shipped to the Auriga system on board the prison hulk “Success”. While this was presented as a chance to earn back their place in society by working hard for the common good, they understood that in fact they would be slave labour, sent to colonize an unexplored planet. All they knew about Auriga Prime was what the probes told them: it had water, temperate zones, plant life, and plenty of metals in the crust. In fact, the planet Auriga once hosted a major settlement of the galaxy-travelling ancestors known as the Endless. In addition, the planet was still orbited by a functioning (and well cloaked) defensive system, which sprang eagerly to life upon the arrival of the Success. Within a few minutes, the ship was nothing but a few large chunks of metal falling toward the planet. Every set of holding cells also functioned as an escape pod, so the ship let itself disintegrate and the surviving prisoners fell bruised but (temporarily) alive and (momentarily) safe to the planet below. Safe, that is, until they realized that they had crashed through some sort of facility of the Endless, down to a sub-basement so deep and ancient it might as well be called a dungeon… GATHER A TEAM. * Form a team of heroes, each with their own strengths (and psychoses) * Equip them, deploy them, and earn powerful abilities * Manage the balance between ex-prison inmates and guards * Experience four player coop and watch your back BUILD YOUR DEFENSES. * Use the Dust you gather to power the rooms * Use scarce resources to help your team survive * Build minor and major modules to hold off waves of monsters * Decode Endless ruins to discover life-saving technologies OPEN THE DOOR. * Each door is a danger; prepare yourself and your team for anything * Explore and discover an infinity of levels and layouts * Carry your crystal through waves of monsters to the exit of each level * Fight your way to the surface to discover the truth about Auriga

Mortal Kombat 11 - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

Mortal Kombat 11 - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

Mortal Combat 11 for PC is a 2.5D fighting game that marks – as the name implies – an impressive twenty-seven years of Mortal Kombat. This not only gives players gives a lot of and back story (especially new players) but it also means the developers have had plenty of practise at making compelling and immersive fighting games. This experience shows! 2D is, obviously, flat images having length and breadth. 3D offers depth alongside, whether actual depth, as in real life scenarios, or simulated depth for games and movies. 2.5D is when the illusion of 3D is offered on a 2D platform, or when a game is sometimes 2D with some fully 3D features. This game is the former. About the game Players all start out with the same equipment and form, much of which can then be customised to suit their preferences. The appearance of the avatar has no bearing on the abilities of the character, so a player can bring all their aesthetic tastes to bear without making their avatar weaker or less capable, unlike in some other games. There is a total of twenty-five playable characters, many with fascinating and compelling back stories, which gives every player plenty of choice when it comes to looks, aggression, defence and so on. Time Travelling Fun The main feature of this version of the Mortal Kombat timeline is the time travel element. This is ideal for older players who get a nostalgic glimpse into previous games, while newer players get to see old storylines rewind and work out differently. This fascinating features leads to some very different outcomes – and different outcomes than those desired by the players too! In order to earn enough points for upgrades and access to locked areas, players might find that some grinding is necessary. Grinding is repeating tasks or going over old missions in order to gain experience points or other benefits. However, this can be enjoyable, especially repeating easier missions with new powers: old enemies are splattered with joyful ease! Last Resort Death Knell One new modification in this game is the introduction of Fatal Blows. These are not available all the time, only being usable once your health level as dropped to dangerous lows. They are a sort of last resort, a final flourish to attempt to get your opponent before he or she finishes you off. The offence and defence metres are now separate, so you can boost your offence to make an attack particularly strong or you can boost defence for cunning roll-escapes or counterattacks without using up too much power. Tutorials will quickly and easily talk you through using these new features, and you’ll be fighting your way to success in no time. Ways to play Story Mode As mentioned above, the back story for MK is now a long and complicated saga worthy of publication as a standalone book or movie. Play through the game, until you achieve one of the two official endings – or go off canon and make up your own ending! Combat mode Blood splashes everywhere as you just enjoy the sickening but inventive ways to paint the gore around, taking out everyone you see. Explore the open map to find targets or follow the on-screen instructions, just taking your own blood-thirsty time about it! Krypt mode This is more of a sub-game than a mode, and can save you some of the above-mentioned grinding. Plunder the island for treasure and other loot, smashing down walls and opening chests to retrieve gold and other valuables, which can then be used to buy customised skins, weapons and gears, secret entrances and even to modify AI behaviour in your own favour.

Resident Evil 3 - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

Resident Evil 3 - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

includes Resident Evil Resistance, a new 1 vs 4 online multiplayer game set in the Resident Evil universe where four survivors face-off against a sinister Mastermind. Resident Evil 3 for PC is a follow-on from the remake of the previous Resident Evil 2, and a remake of the original 1999 game. This remake looks to be just as popular as the previous one, the developers having chosen exactly the right features when choosing which to improve and which to leave alone. There is even more action than Resident Evil 2, as per customer feedback, although the game developers have not made this game as shiny slick and reminiscent of a Hollywood blockbuster as Resident Evil 6 – which is a good thing. ABOUT THE GAME Against the backdrop of a lethal ‘cannibal virus’ which seems to be transforming citizens into zombies, Jill Valentine and her colleagues in the police are trying to uncover the full extent of the nefarious doings of the evil Umbrella Corp. Carlos Oliveira is also back, the rough-looking mercenary also looking into Umbrella Corp’s actions and motivations for his own reasons. Their semi-uneasy truce adds spice to the game: can she trust him fully or should she hold back a bit? Only playing through will tell! There are more open spaces than the rather restricted confines of Resident Evil 2, and this game gives players decent views of and around Racoon City which is rather lovely, even as it is also rather conflicted. Shops, sewers and subways are all explorable, and sharp-eyed players will spot immovable yellow padlocks in some places. Once Jill has learned one or two rather specific skills, she can return to these areas to see what is hidden behind them NEW WAY TO PLAY Each purchase of the game comes with a copy of Resident Evil Resistance – which is a new, seemingly unbalanced 1 versus 4 game. There is one Mastermind against four survivors all playing across one limited map. The survivors aim to keep that appellation (i.e., survive!), while the mastermind is more of a distant overlord, placing traps and enemies and not actively engaging with the survivors. The Mastermind needs to play something of a chess game, anticipating the survivors’ movements, while they should behave as though everything is a trap! AMAZING IMPROVEMENTS The character imagery is vastly improved for both Jill and Carlos. The characters’ clothing and body shapes are slightly less clichéd, and the graphics are immensely improved with the action looking quite like real filmed footage rather than computer rendered action. Jill and Carlos both look very realistic, almost as though they have been photographed rather than drawn. This humanising effect however, doesn’t translate to Nemesis, the arch enemy, although he too has been improved, tweaked and modified! He is bigger and badder than ever, with awe-inspiring bulk and red-hot rage displayed in the tension of his massive shoulders, the clench of huge Thanos-like fists, and his many and sneaky ways to track you down! NEW MOVE! For this game you can now dodge away from a zombie, should it manage to sneak up to you and get closer than is comfortable. If you time your dodge just right it will give you enough time to grab your gun and sort out the zombie, or run away if you are not looking a fight right now! If a zombie does manage to lay its foul hands on you all is not lost – button mashing (pressing all the buttons simultaneously) can sometimes shake them off and give you precious moments to make your escape!

Total War: Warhammer II - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

Total War: Warhammer II - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

Total War: Warhammer II is a real time, turn-based strategy game in the Total War series. There are thirteen main games and four spin-offs in the series, with the first, Shogun: Total War having been released in 2000. ABOUT THE GAME Set in fictionalised versions of Africa, America and Britain along with a mythical horseshoe-shaped Elven island, smack-dab in the middle of the Atlantic – nicely placed to break up an awful lot of monotonous sea scenery, but also a useful place to have elves find a home, away from traditionally human habitation. The game is essentially a battle for control of this island, called Ulthuan, and you can achieve it in one of two ways: brute force or by solving enough quests and meeting enough objectives that you ultimately take control of the great vortex, and sort of magical whirlpool/cyclone. Playing the latter way makes the game into more of a race as each of the playable species want to control the power contained within the vortex and thus take control of the island – and from there, presumably, the world. CHOOSE ONE OF FOUR You can choose to play as: Lizardmen: as the name implies, these beings are reptilian, based on dinosaurs and amphibians and demonstrate a Central and Southern American (Mesoamerican/ Aztec) theme in their decoration and dress High Elves: also known as the Asur, these elves are the original inhabitants of Ulthuan and they are sworn enemies of the Dark Elves. They are very nearly immortal and produce some of the best mages in the game. Their armies are lightly equipped, but their soldiers are quick, brave and nimble Dark Elves: descended from the Asur, these elves have moved away from the island to Naggaroth in the New World, a cold and forbidding place, much like the souls of the Dark Elves who are vicious, unrelenting and the most evil beings in the game Skaven: sounding almost more unpleasant than the Dark Elves, Skaven are a race of rat men who thrive on and worship chaos. Like rats, they live in darkness underneath the settlements of the other species, emerging when it seems propitious to do so and taking advantage of whatever presents itself at the time STORYTIME Long ago, the great vortex was created to control the forces of chaos that threatened the world. The vortex acts as a sponge, soaking up the wild magic that would have otherwise wreaked havoc on the world, but it has trapped the mages of long ago within itself as they must continually cast spells to keep the vortex stable. The Skaven fire a rocket at the vortex, disrupting it and sending alarm through all four factions who respond, heading towards the vortex to see what they can do to restore balance to the world. Depending on who you are playing as, a ‘win’ takes a different form: Lizardmen and High Elves see harmony restored and the vortex maintained, Dark Elves hijack the power produced to summon their dark king, while the Skaven achieve their aim of producing their own lord of chaos, the Great Horned Rat. PICK YOUR SPECIES WITH CARE Each of the above species offers a different range of pros and cons to the player: Skaven are continually hungry and must keep an eye on supplies and go foraging frequently, while High Elves trade in influence and civilising politics. But Skaven can slip into small spaces and hide, while High Elves prefer to face their enemies on a battlefield. Lizardmen control immense creatures and can go into berserker rages, while Dark Elves can summon floating orbs of dark magic to help them succeed.

Two Point Hospital: Off the Grid DLC - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

Two Point Hospital: Off the Grid DLC - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

From Hogsport to Blighton, from Flemington to Smogley, from here to remote corners of the Wanderoff County Park, everyone is talking about Mother Nature. Tabitha Windsock, Two Point County’s every-present mayor, has put rivers and forests back on the map with her sudden concern for ‘green-issues’. She’s got morals, integrity and, above all else, a cloying desperation to stay in office. That’s right, voter research has repeatedly suggested that the environment is the No. 1 issue on everyone’s mind, here in Two Point County, and Ms Windsock is more than willing to fall on the sword of extensive positive press by founding the Department of Green Things. You’ll face new illnesses, some of them bizarre, even by your standards, and manage new gameplay mechanics on your route to eco-friendly success. We believe in you, and Tabitha does too (sort of). WANDEROFF COUNTY PARK In Wanderoff County Park, Holistix have been farming rare, natural ingredients for years. Once they heard that the Mayor was planning to trial her green initiative in the area, they decided to open a nature commune, and take advantage of the foot traffic. It's our job to care for the people attached to those feet. Our funding from Holistix will depend on how well we're scoring on their new scale... Yes, the (less than) fine people at Holistix have developed something called a "Wellness Index", which uses a number of different criteria to measure the overall wellbeing of a community. They believe that they've found a correlation between high scores on the Wellness Index and a willingness to purchase their organic tat. We won't receive much for diagnosing and treating patients, so if we want to make money we'll need to score well on the Wellness Index by focusing on its six criteria: staff and patient happiness; attractiveness; hygiene; reputation; and cure rate. OLD NEWPOINT Welcome to Old Newpoint, the original settlement in the current era of Two Point County. Though there is no way to know exactly what happened, a cataclysmic event brought an end to the prior civilisation in Two Point County. It was in Old Newpoint, then just Newpoint, that our foreparents founded life as we know it and began to build sheds, make wicker things, and establish our problems and traditions. Many of those traditions are practiced in the area to this day, for some reason… Yes, strange traditions such as herbal medicine and horticulture. The residents practice a root-to-stem approach, you won’t find them munching on Cheesy Gubbins, so you’ll need to keep everyone fed and watered by growing your own fruit and vegetables, and collecting rainwater. But the botany doesn’t end there - no! - medicinal Herb Gardens need to be used to treat the region’s most herbaceous afflictions. Get gardening. WINDSOCK CITY Welcome to Windsock, the County’s first eco-city and its most expensive thing to be named after, and founded by, the same person. The city has taken over the news, provoking questions like: “How does this work?”, “Why haven’t we done it before?” and “Who paid for this?”. Say what you like about Tabitha, she really wants to get re-elected. Windsock City doesn’t rely on the usual means of power. Instead, you’ll need to build green energy machines to stay switched-on and self-sufficient. Each of your green energy machines, whether it’s a wind turbine, solar panel or hydro-dam, will increase the power capacity of the hospital. The power that you generate can be used to open rooms in your hospital, or allocated to the Patient Flow and Staff Applicants systems, to influence transport in and out of the city. Heading off the beaten path brings with it a range of new illnesses! Two Point Hospital: Off the Grid features 35 brand new illnesses, 9 of them visual with a range of new and exciting treatment rooms. Visual illnesses like: * Harebrained * Root Snoot * Green Fingers * Ramshackled * Perforated Thoughts And non-visual illnesses like: * Bodily Druids * Flappy Hamper * Tenderbox … and more! Bag yourself a delightful collection of new eco-friendly items for your hospitals, including a fetching rainwater collector, a door between dimensions and what can only be described as one of the best butter churners in videogames.

Code Vein - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

Code Vein - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

Code Vein for PC is an action role playing game, set in a dystopian future world, when humans have weaponised the dead, turning them into a massive army of vampiric revenants designed to battle monsters who have emerged mysteriously all over the place. ABOUT THE GAME You play as a revenant, awakening in the remains of a city called Vein. You are guided by a girl, dressed all in white, called Io, who serves as instruction manual, map and guide for the first few moments of gameplay. The game is large open world, although there are many doorways which only open one way, so a player must be satisfied that they have unlocked all the secrets and discovered all the hidden power-ups, treasures and so on in one area before moving on to the next. The ending is equally open-ended, with several endings depending on how well the game was played. If the Revenant has been very successful, and brought many comrades along to the final scenes, it plays out one way, whereas if few have survived, or if the Revenant is alone, then a different scenario plays out. FACTS ABOUT REVENANTS Revenants, being something like zombies, but with significant differences, are brought back to life by having a parasitic organism attached to their hearts – think something like a creepy and fleshy pace-maker – and can thenceforth only be killed if their hearts are destroyed. Revenants do not need or crave brains, instead – this is where the vampiric bit comes in – they need human blood for nourishment and fend off the advent of mindlessness. Revenants that do not get a sufficient supply of human blood become subject to a frenzy that transforms them into cannibalistic beasts that cannot be reasoned with. In order to ensure a plentiful supply of nutrients for Revenants, there are Bloodspring plants which produce Blood Beads – a sort of ready meal for Revenants. However, of late, production of Blood Beads has begun to fall, so more Revenants are threatened with becoming Frenzied, as it is known. INTENSELY DETAILED AVATAR BUILDING This game has seriously pushed the boat out when it comes to building your playing character. Settle in and be prepared to spend a good long time perfecting every single detail about your character in a way that you have seldom seen before. Hair colour: you can not only choose any colour under the sun for your character’s hair, but once you click on the colour – say, green – you get a slider with hundreds of shades of green so you can very precisely choose the exact shade of marine turquoise with a hint of petit pois that you want your character to sport Hair style: as with the colour, there are hundreds of styles to choose from, and once you have selected one – say, medium-length pony-tail with a loose curl, parting on the left with some soft spikes on top (yes, they are that detailed!) you can then tweak it for fullness by adding more hair, trim the length slightly, fatten or thin out the ponytail, and add a number of other tweaks besides Eye details: as well as the usual eye shapes and colours, with this game you have more of both of those options, as well as choices about eyelash length and colour, pupil size and shape – lime green almond-shaped eyes with a vertical cats-eye pupil? Easily done! Clothing trim: not only can you choose the character’s wardrobe, picking out tailoring and colouring to suit, you can lengthen, shorten or completely remove collars, add buckles and straps as needed and perform any of a number of sartorial tweaks that will make your avatar stand out from the Revenant crowd Scars: that’s right, you can add scars to your playing character, aligning it the way you like, making it bigger or smaller and placing it precisely where you want it to go, so you can make up a compelling backstory for the character and give them scars to fit their story!

Back 4 Blood - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

Back 4 Blood - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

Back 4 Blood for PC is a co-operative zombie shooter game with a new card-based perks system. It is the unofficial successor to Left 4 Dead due to having the same creators who have indulged themselves in producing very similar gameplay. ABOUT THE GAME New to this game and something quite different for games of this type is the card deck. You must build your deck to gain as much advantage as you can as regards: health and healing, damage taken, stamina usage and restoration and so on. Meanwhile, the AI director within the game, will issue you with corruption cards from time to time, which work as debuffs, weakening your characters and making everything a bit harder for a while. As well as occasionally annoying you in this way, the AI can also spawn enemies, create a boggling fog that will send you wandering around in circles and can also boost the size of a horde in the PvE modes, bursting any complacent bubbles that you might have allowed to grow! The premise of the game is this: a worldwide outbreak of a mysterious parasite has devastated the world, turning those afflicted into creatures known as ‘the Ridden’. They are not undead, but are basically zombie-like characters against whom the survivors must battle. Survivors are who battle the Ridden are called Cleaners and they consist of various people: Walker, Holly, Hoffman, Evangelo, Karlee, Doc, Jim and Mom – you choose one of these to play as – pay attention to the stats in the opening scenes and pick a character that chimes with your inner you. You and your companions will fight your way through the story campaign in groups of four, all battling to clear the zombies from one room before moving to the next and doing it all again. The mission-based drops you in at point A with a list of tasks to complete before making your way to point B for some rest and recuperation in a safe room. THE NITTY GRITTY There are plenty of weapons to get to grips with, and they are all colour-coded by rarity, so you know when you’ve got a good one, a nice feature that makes shooting excellence that little bit easier. Each gun ‘fires’ differently, so you will want to come back time after time to try out all the weapons that you can as you acquire and master them. The end of each level sees the advance of a special ‘boss’ Ridden. These number among them, the likes of the Ogre, an immense monster who lobs meaty cannonballs at you with devastating effect – so keep your concentration high and your ammo handy when the end of the level seems to be approaching! There are various types of Ridden (detailed below) and you will need to learn how to anticipate and tackle each of these. As well as being to play either as Cleaner or as Ridden, you can enjoy four player co-operative play and 8 player multi-play Player vs Player. The game has a special focus on multi-play and re-playability, much like the game’s spiritual predecessor Left 4 Dead. JOIN THE RIDDEN FAMILY Whichever side you want to play on, but especially if you want to be a Ridden in the PvP multi-play events, you must learn to distinguish between the following types of Ridden, who tend to travel in similar groups: Stingers – these are sneaky and weakly creatures that sidle along ceilings and walls. They are easy to kill if you spot them, but a real nuisance if you don’t, spitting a sticky goop that anchors you in place until another Ridden or a horde of them can take you out Snitches – about as popular with Cleaners as snitches in schools and prisons – these Ridden sound an alarm if they spot you, summoning the others to come and give you a very hard time indeed Exploder/ Retcher – twins of a sort, these Ridden look similar, but they have quite different properties. One blows up taking out you, your team, and anyone else who happens to be nearby, while the other kind of vomits acid on you – another similarity is that neither of them is very pleasant! Bruisers/ Tallboys – known by both names, these Ridden have one huge arm that is literally a built-in club and they know how to use them. Best avoided!

Hogwarts Legacy - (PC) Steam ROW Digital Key

Hogwarts Legacy - (PC) Steam ROW Digital Key

Hogwarts Legacy for PC is a single player action adventure role-playing game based on the Harry Potter universe, in which the player takes on the persona of a newcomer to the enchanted castle so beloved of fans of the books and movie franchise. About the Game This game is set in the late 1800s, so there is no overlap with any characters from the movie and book canon, although some of the ghosts you know and love may pop up to guide you on your way – or hinder and delay you, if you annoy them! Unique – and central – to this game are NCPs (non-playing characters) Victor Rookwood (who is the sort of pre-Voldemort leader of the Dark Wizards – precursors to the Death Eaters), Professor Eleazar Fig who is your form teacher and ally, and the deliciously evil rebellious goblin leader, Ranrok, who trusts no human and especially no wizard! You are a student about to start your fifth year who transfers to Hogwarts from somewhere else following a mysterious accident. Slowly it emerges that you are the possessor of the key to an ancient secret that could tear the wizarding world apart. Ranrok hates all wizardkind, but has allied himself with Rookwood in order to get hold of an ancient magic. An ancient magic which is so dangerous that wizardkind has tried to hide it from itself – and that you, unexpectedly, turn out to be the one wizard that is the key to the unleashing of this ancient magic! Needless to say, Rookwood is in danger if Ranrok succeeds, but Rookwood is dangerous enough on his own behalf. You, as the student, must work with Fig to keep the magic’s secret and avert the goblin rebellion… The Nitty Gritty You will attend classes, in between saving wizarding civilisation, in Charms, Herbology, Defence Against the Dark Arts, and Potions, and in between classes you can explore much further afield than simply the castle. The Hidden Forest, Hogsmeade and Gringotts Bank are all accessible and fully explorable The open world setting will change with the seasons, and you can choose your house, and customise your playing character in many ways including voice, body type, gender and wand selection. All of this adds up to mean that each player can enjoy a tailor-made and very different gaming experience. As noted above, the game is open world and positively begs exploration as you interact with NCPs like Nearly Headless Nick, Peeves the poltergeist – who is known and loved by readers of the books, but never quite made it into the movies, although the part was filmed for the first movie, starring the late great Rik Myall – and the Fat Lady, who guards the Gryffindor dormitories. The Room of Requirement features in the game too, serving a much wider purpose than previously seen. Players will be able to customise it to their needs and preferences and it operates as a kind of common room, growing plants, doing research and tweaking your customisation as you need to. The game’s in-built morality system will allow wannabe villains to tackle the killing curse if they dare, or you can make friends with everyone you meet – including classmates who will grow and develop alongside you, offering handy aid at tricky moments. There are no microtransactions in the game: everything you get will be earned the hard way, there are no shortcuts for the rich to take and get ahead. Fantastic Beasts and How to Care for Them Care of Magical Creatures is a must as you will interact, take care of and even battle using: Dragons: never mind the ban on breeding dragons, in Hogwarts you can raise your very own pet incinerator on which you can ride, cuddle and battle. Just don’t forget to feed themNifflers: the cute and cuddly mole-platypus-magpies return again, snaffling up anything shiny and simultaneously annoying and charming youTrolls: more animal than humanoid in this game, trolls are firmly in the creature camp rather than the wizard camp hereHippogriffs: Buckbeak (aka Witherwings) and co return to terrify and delight you as well as coming in jolly useful in the battling stakes with both sharp claws and a fearsome beak to put to good use against your enemiesMandrakes: technically plants, but considering their roots are screeching and intensely grumpy babies, they fall under the ‘magical creatures’ umbrella. Use ear defenders when potting them, and unleash them on your enemies when you are in a pinch

Lords of the Fallen - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

Lords of the Fallen - (PC) Steam EUROPE Digital Key

Lords of the Fallen for PC is an action role-playing game, both the successor to and a reboot of the 2014 game of the same name. The game is played with third-person point of view. ABOUT THE GAME You will begin by creating and customising your avatar, choosing from one of several character classes (see below for some details). Two worlds or realms are layered on top of each other: one being the living world, the other the world of the dead. Axiom is the realm of the living and it is in this space that the game will mostly play out, with glimpses of and visits to Umbral, the spectral realm of the dead. These worlds share the same physical space, and – usefully – an impossible task (escape from an enclosed cave, for example) might be not only possible, but positively easy in the alternate realm which might have secret tunnels leading to freedom, for example. If you are killed in Axiom, you respawn in the same place, but in Umbral this time. You will have to find a way to return to Axiom and regather your lost loot, XP etc. However, if you are killed again, before you’ve had the chance to get back to Axiom, you will revert to your last save point, and lose any unsaved loot. Scripted save points are rare (on either side) but you can create your own save points using remnants of Umbral monsters (of which there are many!) Each level of the game boasts an impressive boss fight, and you will have to kill them more than once. Your first kill results in the bosses transforming and hitting you even harder for a second go-round. The first boss you will face is Pieta, who begins as an immense knight with impressive light magic spells, who transforms into an angel who can fly over your head, and throws even more intense light magic at you. You will almost certainly not survive your first encounter with her – the game has Soulslike vibes in that regard! – but you will learn each time you face up to her. Boglord, the second boss, is very different being… quite gross, let’s say! Enemies have a nasty habit of hiding behind boxes and then lunging out at just the right moment to try and shove you off the edge of cliffs and mountains. But you can also do this back to them, and it is most satisfying to anticipate an attack and send the enemies plummeting away. Also master Soul Flaying, which involves grabbing their soul from their body and throwing it off the nearest high place – their body will follow. The ambiance of the two realms couldn’t be more different: living Axiom is bathed in a warm, comforting glow, while deathly Umbral is oppressively dark and depraved with flesh-like tendrils that climb and spread, eyeballs that constantly watch you, and bodies all plastered against the wall. As you play in Axiom, you use a lantern that shines a light into Umbral so you can see the differences between the two realms. Sometimes, as mentioned above, this reveals a secret path or hidden treasure, and occasionally it can reveal an Umbral parasite boosting the powers of the enemy you are fighting – taking care of that will even the odds a bit! Sometimes you need to go into Umbral itself, usually to interact with these hidden pathways or loot, or to create a path that will then exist in Axiom. However, remember that dying in Umbral tends to be more costly than dying in Axiom – you will lose your loot! But the game is well balanced and having the option to jump realms adds to the excitement of exploration, especially when you find treasure in one realm that doesn’t exist on the other. THE NITTY GRITTY You will use melee weapons and magic to defeat your enemies, and you can also play cooperatively with another player or against a friend in player-vs-player mode. Game play is fast and responsive, showing that the game has taken advantage of all the technological advances since the previous game. Your choice of class at the beginning of the game is just a starting point, and you can then add skills and weapons that you like, to create a very customised character that embraces your personal preferences in fighting skills and style. As you defeat enemies, you earn in-game currency, which can be swapped for status points at Vestiges (sort of checkpoints in the game) – you need to do this to upgrade. When you are killed in the game, in Axiom, your currency is dropped, so you must hurry to complete the level in the Umbral to get back to your dropped possessions. If you die in the Umbral, your currency is lost. The whole main game will take about forty or fifty hours to play through, and given the level of challenge you will be facing for much of this time, you will find that to be more than enough! Enemy attacks are very precisely timed, allowing you just enough time to dodge with no margin for error, which wilk jeep your heartrate high and your attention engaged. SOME OF THE CLASSES IN LORDS OF THE FALLEN There are nine classes altogether in the game, and you will find amongst them the following: Blackfeather ranger:
