Back to Bed ist ein originelles Puzzle-Spiel, das vom unabhängigen Studio Bedtime Gaming als Fortsetzung des Studentenprojekts aus dem Jahr 2011 entwickelt wurde. Die Handlung findet in einer surrealen Traumwelt statt und der Protagonist ist ein Mann namens Bob, der an Narkolepsie leidet. Geschichte Die Handlung des Spiels findet in surrealen Traumwelten statt. Ein Mann namens Bob, der an Narkolepsie leidet, reist reglos durch sie. Aus diesem Grund schläft er immer wieder tief ein und bleibt als Schlafwandler ahnungslos von den Gefahren, die an jeder Ecke lauern. Wir spielen die Rolle eines Teils seines Unterbewusstseins, der für den Selbsterhaltungsinstinkt verantwortlich ist und in Form eines Wächters namens Subob auftritt. Spielerlebnis Unsere Aufgabe besteht darin, Subob so zu lenken, dass Bob sicher zum Zielpunkt in Form eines Bettes auf jeder Ebene gelangt. Wir haben keinen direkten Einfluss auf die Bewegungen des von uns geschützten Menschen. Stattdessen müssen wir die Umgebung manipulieren und so indirekt die Bewegung des bedauernswerten Schlafwandlers beeinflussen. Wenn Bob zum Beispiel auf ein Hindernis trifft, dreht er sich immer 90 Grad im Uhrzeigersinn. Dadurch können wir die Route seines Marsches durch das Bewegen von Gegenständen gestalten. Der Spaß wird dadurch vielfältiger, dass die Handlung in der Welt der Träume stattfindet, in der traditionelle physikalische Regeln nicht gelten. Das Ergebnis ist, dass die Level voller tödlicher Fallen, schwerkraftverändernder Treppen und Strukturen sind, die in der Realität nicht existieren könnten. Darüber hinaus ist jede Karte in Form von Fußgängerbrücken in der Luft und ein falscher Schritt kann dazu führen, dass Bob in den Abgrund fällt.
